Great looking model! Originally, I did not like theses cars but over the years I have warmed up to them. Your model just bumped that up a notch.
  2. I'm not a truck builder but I enjoy checking out the builds in this section. Models like this are the reason why! Nicely done!
  3. Great looking model!! The color is gorgeous.
  4. Very cool, indeed! You gotta love these old show rods, and when they're as nice as this one, what's not to love!?! Nice job! It put a smile on my face.
  5. Those are some beautiful Jags! What a great looking display they make. Nice job!
  6. I just read your post. I have to say you nailed it. I posted my 24 hour build earlier today, before I read your post, and I have echoed several of your thoughts. Great minds think alike!....lol. Your truck looks good! Nice job on it, especially considering it was a 24 hour build.
  7. Thanks! Yes, we all shoot Tamiya primer and paint. We let it gas out a bit and then stick the parts in dehydrators. As for doing a 24 hour build, I always pick a kit that I don't plan on entering in contests and don't really have strong feelings about. This way if it does not come out perfect, I don't mind.
  8. I haven't been active on the board for some time. Work is going to be the death of me. With so many hours being put in at work, it leaves little time to work on models. I always have an unofficial New Year's resolution of spending more time at the bench, (don't we all?) Every year I have a good start due to the Annual 24 Hour Build. Being one of the original 5 builders in the current iteration, I have participated in all 12 years. This years model is Revell's Jimmie Vasser Target Reynard Honda. I always have the goal of finishing the model in the given 24 hour period. I did not finish this one in 24 hours. I took a little longer. I had a bad paint reaction on the driver figure which more than doubled the time I spent on him. There are a bazillion decals that took a lot of work to get to settle down. All in all, I like these kits. I think they look good when finished. This is not a contest model, it is a 3-footer. The paint is a little rough. The paint masking on the under tray is not perfect. When looking over the pictures, please remember that she was a 24 hour build.
  9. She looks very good! You are doing a nice job on this. I may have missed it, but why didn't you use all of the decals? I only ask because I did this model for one of the annual 24 hour builds. I didn't completely finish only because of all of those decals....lol. No matter, you have a very nice build going on!
  10. I couldn't agree more. I have all three saved on my cell phone. They are great to deal with. I would compare prices on all three sites before you pull the trigger.
  11. Nice, nice, nice!
  12. Thanks for the review! I'm not a big rig builder but this one does catch my eye. I just may have to pick this one up.
  13. It just goes to show that you were a great model builder even back then. They are both good looking models. My very first NASCAR model was the #4 Kodak using Tru-Match (?) spray paint. I have always liked that livery.
  14. I like everything about this model! I missed the build thread and I will go back and check it out. Very nice finished product, you did a great job on this!
  15. Great looking model, for sure! The red lines look good on her. The photography makes it even that much better. Thanks for sharing!
  16. Your friend should be happier than a pig in mud! I can only guess how many hours you have in this rig. That is a great looking model. Brings back a lot of memories from seeing that movie as a kid.
  17. Outstanding build, Paul! You do great work.
  18. Now that is one good looking model! I always thought that was a nice livery. Great job!
  19. Thanks, James, glad to see it back on. The WV gang will be there!
  20. I am an Admin. on a small model forum. I just went and looked through a number of threads and sure enough, many, many missing pictures. I get the whole "they are a business thing", I really do. I am just baffled over how they go about their business "plan". As with so many things in this world, I'm sure they will get what they deserve, (and that can be taken any way you'd like).
  21. Really, really nice build. Everything looks so nice. Great job!
  22. They look pretty darn good to me. I've got both of these in the stash. I think it is a law that that you must build both cars and display them together...lol. What an iconic pair.
  23. I'm glad that you stuck with it! I think she came out very nice. Good looking model.
  24. Being a self-proclaimed Coke-a-holic, I really like this one. I just bought the newest release of the Vending Machine show rod because it had the Coke logos. For one of the annual 24 hour builds, the guys in my group were going to build the beer wagon but with the livery of our favorite beverages. My buddy bought me a decal sheet of Coke logos specifically designed for the beer wagon. I can't remember the name of the vendor who made them but they are nice. Thanks for sharing this build with us!
  25. You do fantastic work, Paul! Very nice build.
