Tamiya Toyota Land Cruiser 80 kits
Luc Janssens replied to martinfan5's topic in Truck Kit News & Reviews
Anyone here, know how to get the 5 stock tires from this kit? Need a set cuz they fit the Monogram F250 wheels like they were made for it -
Tucker kit? YES!
Luc Janssens replied to Jon Cole's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Indeed...in the past, 'till the 90s or so, I pretty much knew every new vehicle on the road....now I have to look at the name plate, one exception is the Tesla, I can spot them from a mile away, don't know what it is, cuz never realy read current auto magazines. Only have a subscription of Hemming's Muscle Machines, since day one... -
Tucker kit? YES!
Luc Janssens replied to Jon Cole's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
There are soo many interesting vehicles which made the short list of this or that maufacturer, but the bottomline is still the same, if there's not enough interest from the distributors and retailers, it doesn't fly. There's another breaking ground vehicle out there, also from a indipendent manufacturer, but sold in much bigger numbers and worldwide.. Tesla.....why are there no model kits from their model lineup, it would be perfect for the internet generation and greenies (read power junkies not gas monkies) -
Tucker kit? YES!

If you want a Tucker kit, go on facebook and maybe you can get one with the help of crowd funding, you will need to pick up 250-300K When having that kind of cash in your pockets, doors will open...... -
Ghost Kits - Shown But Never Released
Luc Janssens replied to Casey's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
The question here is, how can one describe the typical WalMart shopper? Might be an interesting essay.. ;^) And, what are the biggest buyers of model kits these days, Michaels, Hobby Lobby?...wich sort of clientele do they serve? -
While I understand some of the concerns made public here, especially those from guys who eat and breathe Hot rods, I'm getting more and more exited with every (re)view of the test shots and builds made from it. In the past I Hot rods never did anything for me, but by meeting people who have one and watching TV shows like Gas Monlee's, I got this itch, so can't wait, till the first release hits our shores, to play with the parts, just like any 46 year old kid would do

1970 Dodge Charger R/T?
Luc Janssens replied to Mr. Moparman's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Too much undercut in the body shape to be derived from a diecast tool, I think (based on the plastic kit made from the Vanishing point Challenger, and ex Smokey and the Bandit T/A) -

Welcome back Brett, back to the subject, blew up the photo this morning to look at the body and the fenders look '68-69 to me. -
Moebius `65 Plymouth Satellite
Luc Janssens replied to FASTBACK340's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Steve, realy goes the extra mile, in making us believe it's a model kit. For starters he removed all engine wiring from his car Again a job well done Steve. Likewise for team Moebius! -
What was your 1st 1 to car
Luc Janssens replied to 69NovaYenko's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Mine was a second generation Opel Ascona (photo taken from the net, mine was sort of a French blue) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Opel_Ascona -
Also don't always believe what's printed on a model kit box, some 1/25th scale kits are in fact 1/24th, just because they looked too small (not much bang for the buck) while other designs were cut short to fit the box. Like many here said, if the subject matter appeals to me, I'll buy it, be it 1/24th or 1/25th scale.

But when you go over the surface with your finger is it grainy or smooth.

Cool and still a admirer/fan, you're a better man then I will ever be LOL

Rob, you're the exception to the rule, one of the reasons we connect even though we never met.

Think we're a special breed, most Americans won't touch a '70 land-yacht with stick, it's a black page in their motoring history. But Europeans never drove those, so we never experienced the lack of quality, we just remember them from TV shows and what Tinseltown showed us un the silver screen, you can't beat childhood memories/nostalgia. Maybe like some Japanese companies did in the 70s & "80s European companies will tool up some in the future, just as they did with American big rigs.......we can always dream right?! At least Revell is giving us a '76 Ford Gran Torino, yipiyayee! Beauty is in the eye of the beholder...

Round-2 holds the right cards for that one, but sadly they don't tool up new stuff as they cancelled the long rumored Dodge Demon kit. Oh well an original Jo-han can still be obtained for only an arm and a leg.

Mine is on order and will ship, when both Moebius Ford pickups arrive, at my favorite hobby dealer.
-
Hmm, why didn't I think of that LOL No seriously, my post was tongue in cheek, all the new Moebius kits are pre-ordered at my favorite dealer
