  1. They probably wrecked 3 identical ones for that movie. Anyway thank you Chris too, I've posted a link to that clip on the share your dream site.... http://ideas.revell.de/ideas/item/2893/ http://www.hemmings.com/mus/stories/2014/03/01/hmn_feature13.html
  2. I seem to recall amt having a Lenny Pond Laguna, think even having the box, but anyway which is the better kit amt or mpc?
  3. Revell Germany updated their 'Share your dream" website, now you expand your search in the "ground" section to, 1/24, cars, Oldtimer, youngtimer, modern, utility vehicles, etc...provided that everyone updates their ideas to include those tags. I already did, check it out... http://ideas.revell.de/ideas/ Thanks Luc
  4. Hey Tom, acually I sort of did that, by posting it and other 250K proposals on the Revell Germany "Share your dream" we page. http://ideas.revell.de/ideas/item/2579/ BTW they expanded their search filters, so 1/24th can be sifted out from all other subjects in the ground category.
  5. Ditto!! Remember in the late 80s sending Revell a A3 format black and white picture of a '72 GTS (Back in the day, around new year, I would sent them a wish list with photo(copy's) and drawings I made. Also remember a movie, in which a red '72 jumped from a riverbank onto a ferry boat (I think it was) And 3rd. the first Jo-Han kit I bought at a store, was the molded in yellow '72 Grand Torino Snapper, and when asking the hobby shop owner for a Jo-han catalog, he looked at me, like I was from Mars, but it started my Jo-Han admiration. ;^)
  6. Can't wait to test fit that chassis under a Jo-Han '72 snapper
  7. It's not in the regular snap-tite lineup, but in the build 'n play, don't think they're gonna contaminate the original concept
  8. Maybe kids see a police car, not a brand nor model year, for Revell to use this one...maybe the licensing is dirt cheap, dunno just guessing.
  9. Why, it's a entry level model kit for kids. It's a police car they can build, play with, probably chasing the Mustang... No more no less...
  10. was about to post the same before I saw yours Brett, and if indeed full glue, most likely, as is a Ranchero (if the same wheelbase) to finance the tooling, but wouldn't mind a wagon either...can't have too many longroofs. http://ideas.revell.de/ideas/item/5078/ http://ideas.revell.de/ideas/item/2893/ http://ideas.revell.de/ideas/item/2592/ Anyway, this announcement realy made my day, realy hope ROG adds it to it's 2015 lineup too. More power to big American '70s cruisers, no Pinto's, Gremlins, cavaliers and Omni's for me ;^) A striped tomato, still can't believe it, I'm sure when I awake tomorrow, this tread and all traces on the TH site will be gone LOL
  11. The only thing to keep in mind when choosing the subject matter is that it has to be full of chrome parts, especially when you're selling the American dream in Europe... 'bout the investment, see PM
  12. Fount this page on the old car brochures website...it's from a '70 P/U, of which item #13, may be of some interest.
  13. Here some links to save in your favorites folder, for when it's time to build the kit.... http://www.oldcarbrochures.com/static/NA/FMC%20Trucks-Vans/1969_Trucks-Vans/1969_Ford_Pickup_Brochure/dirindex.html http://www.oldcarbrochures.com/static/NA/FMC%20Trucks-Vans/1969_Trucks-Vans/1969_Ford_Truck_Owners_Manual/1969%20Ford%20Truck%20Owners%20Manual%20Pg00%20Front%20Cover.html
  14. Ordering a few Aoshima wheel sets and when they arrive, the search for the right car kit to put them on/ ;^) Just fitted some BBS's under an old Monogram 86 Monte Carlo SS and they look perfect...now on to the next!
  15. Think one of the issues is, one of shadows, like the creases, curvatures are there, but don't realy show up right, due to photo shoot lighting, where the pics of the 1:1s are in natural light. Maybe Sven needs to build one, which looks like it was exposed to the elements for a few decades, faded red, with flat white bumpers and grille, adding weathering, which will pop out the details. just sayin'...
  16. Then release it as a snapper, I'm sure those who build Gassers will know where to source the parts for a full detail version, while the weekend modelers will end up with a decent looking shelf piece without much work.
  17. Doesn't matter, if a tool rework look profitable for Revell they should go for it, even if the 1:1 concept can't make it through the FED's red tape.
  18. About the T/A, Could be, didn't they have to cut a second tool, to keep up, seem to recall something like that, but don't know for certain.. Think the last run of the Charger showed so much potential that it warranted an all new tool, I'm buying a copy for me and my son, I know it's a kid's show (tried to watch an episode a few years ago and had to turn it off) but the General Lee is part of my childhood memory...thus making it special. Just like the A-Team Van KITT and the S&H Torino
  19. Just got the August Issue of Hemmings Muscle Machines, so s'cuse me, have some reading to do...
  20. Remember when Hasegawa released a number of high detail auto kits, a Jaguar XJ-S being one of them and one of the first things I noticed was, that the cowl to fender lines were absent...so scribing I went, but didn't do an all too well job of it and the kit, never was finished...think I still have it...
  21. So Dodge gets bought "buy" a European company....hmm Did he mean: So Dodge gets bought, buy a European company, or... So Dodge gets bought by a European company.. ;^)
  22. That would be more expensive, cuz at that scale, details are omitted or exaggerated, so a lot more retooling has to be done, to get a decent model in scale and then only feasible, as a snapper IMHO. IIRC Monogram at the time, used the body (buck) from their 1/32nd scale snap-tite '69 Charger to tool up the body for their Pro-Modeler kit and it did cost them dearly.... Scaling down I think is easier and in the past I wondered, if for example the Monogram 1/8th scale '80 Trans Am, would be a great start to tool up, an all new 1/25th scale kit of that generation Firebird's.
  23. IMHO a kit of a Tucker, will tank so deep that the manufacturer who kitted it will go into oblivion too, unless its a pre-decorated snapper, then they might survive... Sure they idea maybe had some merit at the time the movie debuted, but still would've been a shelf sitter despite the larger platform the hobby had IMHO a kit of the following items would do much, much better, but then again maybe fraud is involved considering the high numbers :D . http://ideas.revell.de/ideas/item/2734/ http://ideas.revell.de/ideas/item/2732/ And maybe just maybe this one too: http://ideas.revell.de/ideas/item/3470/
