A S&H Gran Torino looks do-able if one designs it together with '72 and maybe add a wagon with a drag race option....but the big question is, is the weekend modeler realy waiting for these? http://ideas.revell.de/ideas/item/2592/ http://ideas.revell.de/ideas/item/2893/ W But for arguments sake what could be shared tooling or design wise? Drive train? Chassis and floorplate with engine bay? Buklkhead (Firewall) Gastank? Windshield?

Wheeler Dealers (WD) is the show for me, I've watched some of the US series and wonder why they need the drama and those staged rare parts finds, is the US classic car scene full of morons and drama kings? Where on earth do these producers get that idea, from women fighting over a piece of cloth at some big closeout sale? I realy do hope that WD get the highest ratings amongst viewers, so that that format gets used by the US broadcast companies too.... -

I'm certain I'm make spelling and grammar mistakes, when I write on this and other forums. The funny thing is, that when I re-read my message after a few hours, I catch (hopefully ;^) most of them, then I hit the edit button (a great feature to have IMHO) and start crossing the T's and dotting the I's. The point some guys here are making is, is that amongst friends you can be yourself, but when dealing with outsiders, it's best to show your best, to be taken seriously. Just a fact of life... So when in the heat of the moment you're writing an official letter on your pc, save it in your drafts folder first, after an hour or so read it again (or better let someone else read it) edit it and save it again, then the next day when you're ok with it, send it. Just my two cents. -

Remaining parts may be discarded Which to us the lunatic fringe read like; for parts box -
When comparing an original kit, one can see that the body has been worked on, it's not that straight when looking in the wheel-well area, as in that they were in different positions over the years.... One thing which is better executed in this tired old kit then in Revell's '66, is the front clip, which IMHO is less bulky

Will GM's problems ever end?
Luc Janssens replied to Harry P.'s topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Not only car people cuz then they go bust due to no profit margin, it's a buyers market ya know. No you have to have a good mix, of car people and people who do their best to keep it within the budget. -

BTW just read a friend's post on the SH board and he writes that hey have a Kenworth T909 Conventional on the drawing board too. Also he states that the kits will be in 1/25th scale and priced like the Moebius trucks. -
Will GM's problems ever end?
Luc Janssens replied to Harry P.'s topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
When the decision making process is done by bean counters and corporate politicians, one can expect this kind of thing. I know I used to work for them. We had 5 GM products in the family and we replaced all when they were up for renewal.... 'nuff said. -
Was watching that listing, but forgot to bid, have a original '62 Chrysler 300 convert which is missing that and the uptop.

Revell announces new line of snap kits
Luc Janssens replied to gasman's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
My 6 year old son loves Lego Star Wars, find it funny, he never saw one of the S W movies, yet he knows most of the characters, with my guidance he just built his first space ship, I was heavily into Lego when I was 12, when the technic series came out... 'bout model kits, I think paint is the problem, it can very messy if you know what I mean and think Revell is addressing that parental concern ;^), also I hope that they're breaking down the parts in such a way that for example the grille insert(s) is (are) on a black sprue, together with the suspension parts, the interior parts maybe on a tan, the engine parts on a molded in silver one and last but not least a pre-painted (Tampo printed?) black fret on the windows, hopefully they look better when finished then a $15 diecast...anyway, looking forward trying one...maybe even with my son, when they become available here. -

Interesting choice, always thought a conventional would be preferred over a COE. Anyway looking forward reading the reviews, when these kits hit the market.in Oceania next year. -

Know how you feel, still remember seeing the announcement of the all new '66 Ford Fairlane GT/GTA kit in the Blueprinter magazine... Or the all new Monogram '83 Ford Mustang convertible, I saw in the then all new '83 Monogram catalog, I remember thinking September (the release month) being far away (got the catalog in Feb.) and after the 2 month summer vacation from school...then I was almost 15, now almost 46...time sure flies -

Import Duty?
Luc Janssens replied to Stuntman Mike's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Value, that's another issue, when buying a vintage kit on ebay, it can be $150, or $10 when the seller listed the item in the wrong category. I even had some ebay seller who, declared book value on an item, while I paid much less, luckily the item passed customs without paying duties. IIRC When Revell sent me replacement Pro-Modeler '69 Chargers back in the day, I think they declared $5, while the kit was retailing for $25 So what is value? -

Part of the problem for us Europeans is that US manufacturers do the warehousing and groupage stateside and not in China. Most likely its cheaper for them shipping wise and the numbers sold in Europe too insignificant to change their way. I see now that a Aoshima wheels set is cheaper here then a Amt tire set....... Oh well.. good I'm up for adoption LOL
