  1. Remember the milkman in our village using one, still remember his name; Fons who always gave my brothers and I candy whenever he delivered milk, eggs and butter..... Some other delivery vehicles I remember from my youth, a Bedford TK (brewer; his name was Robert and also the coal guy) Sinca 1100 Fourgonette (Baker; his name was Maurice ) Opel Rekord Delivery (also Bakery, but replaced by Simca in the mid '70s)
  2. Someone in cyberspace must love me! ;^P
  3. Think this kit will be an interesting exercise on how well the market reacts to model kits of late 70s American cars. Will nostalgia embrace the era and forget all the bad.....time will tell ;^)
  4. Oops, I was thinking of the Barracuda fastback...
  5. When I was visiting a friend last October, he just had in a load of vintage kits, to put on ebay, IIRC none of them were of '58 vintage but many were from the 60s and a few from the early 70s. When checking them out, I found that the nostalgia factor, you find on boards and FB groups somewhat make (some of) those kits better, then they realy were/are..like the first gen Corvair, which I found a bit crude. They're neat time capsules but they do have their faults, cuz back then they were mass produced toys.
  6. It became a '66 before the conversion into the Fireball
  7. That mold is shot and wouldn't mind, it falling off a forklift. same for the '67 which shares a lot of inserts appearently
  8. Think this tread is about dreaming and wondering, no more no less... ;^)
  9. What about the '64 Pontiac Grand Prix, where once the glass turned up in reissued '65 G/P's? Also some insert swapping might get some interesting product, like mixing the '78 Dodge Monster truck with the '79 Dodge "Firefighter" Uteline.....
  10. Hmm... Lemme take a guess... The Kenworth Challenge Mixer?
  11. IMHO from a commercial standpoint (selling the dream of being free, driving the hi-and byways in the US as 20th century cowboy) it would've been better to release that kit, as it was in the second edition with sleeper (box art looks better too, again IMHO, I got both originals), but since that didn't happen, I believe the tooling for the sleeper is missing,or demands too much work, or even a complete retool. Also, does it sell well in the US, or is it a shelf sitter. Luc
  12. Not that important... What is, is what molds can be operational with minimal costs and turn a good profit. Let say for instance the tooling for the Amt '68 Ford Galaxie is in their inventory, but the inserts are pitted due to bad storage and will cost as much, or more to refurbish, or re-tool (copying a vintage kit), as the expected profit that kit would turn, if released. Would love to have a face to face brainstorm with the decision makers at Round-2 and a couple of engineers, but very unlikely. ;^)
  13. The design was fresh, the execution sadly reflected the attitude of the area.
  14. The appearance of this model could improve dramatically if only Round2 would re-tool the headlamps (chrome buckets with clear lenses) but since this kit is a niche within a niche, I doubt the benefits will outweigh the tooling costs.....cuz the 1960 Ford Ranchero "Ohio George" was the sole tool they did a grille/headlamp update with....and that's 2-3 years ago already. Luc
  15. Since they already have a ex Monogram 1/24th scale and the one with diecast DNA, I highly doubt that Revell would tool up a whole new Challenger kit, in the foreseeable future. But for argument sake what percentage of Cuda kit parts could be used for a Challenger, 20, 30, 40%?
  16. Probably due to the introduction of the build and play series, they re-shuffled the skill grades?
  17. Not only that, cuz if you go down in the "secret garages" of car company x, y or z, you'd see models of competing companies, being dissected or even body sections of several different models puzzled together to get styling ideas....
  18. I found it strange that when Italeri re-released the Land Cruiser, they didn't include the hardtop. if it were me, I would open all the gates and make it a special value kit, after all everything has been tooled, also either the Toyota Land Cruiser Safari or the Range Rover Camel Trophy has some great Jerry cans and tread? perforated plates to get unstuck in the mud (spinning wheels)
  19. Bill, a decade ago I saw they were still racing them, together with 1st gen Mustangs, Camaro's and Cortina's when visiting the vintage races at Spa-Francorchamps.
  20. found some more... here you'll find a police version
  21. Okay...if my diagonal reading cached all info written down in the previous postings a '64-65 Falcon could be a sibling from the Comet tool?! Interesting....and a way to forget the Trumpeter release from a few years ago.....
  22. I wonder how much $$$$$.00 it would take to tool up a whole new '72 Roadrunner/GTX body and other bits that differ from it's sister car the '71 Charger....and if the hobby market is willing to consume it in large quantities... Luc
  23. Think they're a healthy company.
