Luc Janssens replied to JeroenM3's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Been a while since I posted in this tread.....so I'm adding this one Photo taken from a FB group and was posted there by Michael Catalano. Facebook No not the Mustang, I'm talking the CHP Polara Cheers! -
It goes full throttle, one of my late friends said a month before he passed.

Here in my neck of the woods many one brand dealers are bought by big auto stores which sell many different brands. the typical town dealership and many brands have gone the way of the Dodo, the love of the automobile has faded too, I think Rob, guys of our generation are one of the last who appreciate this once great invention.

Just for argument sake, how much needs change/added to the Amt tool to make it a regular F100 short or long box. and then make the same exercise for Moebius to turn their bump- into a dentside.
-
On several occasions Tamiya in the past gave their international distributors the premiere of a new release, while customers buying in Japan had to wait.

But who buys and builds these kits, weekend modelers, die hard modelers, mix of both? Just wondering. Thanks

James, Forgot to add this in my prior post, but which form of business, generates the most impulse buys? BTW is the SJR a well known brand name outside the group of people of which many frequent this and other fora? Just wondering Cheers

The advantage of padprinting arming you as a company, against capricious licensors -
Interesting parts breakdown.

Maybe the profile of the big market consumer matches their business case for the most part, cuz I don't see anyone here buying their Yenko Camaro, yet there is a market for that kit. Anyway....I'm happy that they're finally are doing the '68 Coronet, let us hope that the numbers are so that it further encourages them investing in the enthusiast side of the "nostalgia" market, but in the meantime until something really shifts I'm fairly certain that they will continue to play both sides of the market and everything in-between.

When Revell released their brand new '68 Chevelle kit, Round-2 Rereleased their '69, the moment the news leaked about Revell tooling up a brand new '71 Mustang, Round-2 saw fit backdating their '73. They thrive on nostalgia.

Sometimes it's just about brand recognition.

Maybe it's a Nascar kit, to compete with Salvino's........like the old mpc '71 Roadrunner or '74 Charger?

Dunno, it could all boil down how much they want for using their name and logo's. -
Has this been shown previously?

What's funny is that their Kenworth Australian truck is labeled 1/25, while the Road Train trailers it pulls are labeled as 1/24.
-
Funny the guy who designed most of the variations on the ex-Revell Venice trucks name is Klaus, Klaus Lassen!
