  1. Dunno Mark, in the US lawyers are known to come out of the woodwork for less than that That why I always include that remark in all my post about possible future Jo-Han projects, but if you're right, what's the hold up, Ha! You should know that I would love to see certain Jo-Han design back. Cheers Luc

  3. The 3D scanning is indeed a game changer, anything in the back catalog from Amt and Mpc can be brought back by Round2, if there's a good ROI.In some cases scanning a mint original kit is far better than working on an old tool, which was stored improperly, repaired once too many times, or has far too many miles on the odometer, and I'm not talking the slow boat to China miles. Also with the upcoming '68 Coronet, for example, they can incorporate in the tooling (cluster) a ''69 and even a '70 model, without having to worry about the layout/design of the vintage tool.Another advantage of the scanning process is, once you have the digital files, you can produce the final product anywhere on the globe, and play out one vendor with another, the tool is just a vehicle to produce nothing more nothing less. The same can be applied to the Jo-Han estate, but it all depends on who can claim the rights to the past designs, once that is sorted out, the sky is the limit.Fun times, hobby wise that is

  5. Can't really blame Round2 or any other manufacturer of model kits, for the OEM's being unpredictable on the terms which they can use their name and trademark. With the vintage tires they can switch back and forth manufacturers with the use of tampo printing as sidewall detail, but I don't see white letters on modern tires, so no option for going that route, thus blank sidewall.
  6. Yep, the separate rear seat is also a very strong hint towards that Looking forward to the build video, especially due to the way the attachment of front and rear facia is designed, also like that they made all the grilles as separate pieces, which will facilitate much easier detail painting than molded-in everything. Round-2 is not only investing heavily in bringing back very interesting subjects of their back catalog, but really thinking ahead towards clever design to ease the building process on their all-new releases. My hat off to the Kats.
  7. HPI Guys posted a unboxing video of this kit....YES!
  8. One they have the 3D file they can do anything with it if there's enough demand...and hours in a day to do it all.
  9. Post removed, James beat me to it with the news that the distribution of these kits can commence!
  10. Sure they could add it as some sort of custom option, IMHO unless Round-2 can negotiate some form of GM blanked licence agreement, the GMC letters, even when separate, probably wont pass the OEM's final approval. But first things first, really looking forward to this kit.
  11. Coming closer.... https://www.revell.de/neuheiten-revell/71-mustang-boss-351.html
  12. Do they also have a company?
  13. IMHO Best to send photos of these to their customer service dept. that way they can see what wrong and work out preventive measures.
  14. Odd, going forward without having the rights?
  15. A lot to like, thanks Tim for reporting and the Kats for showing! Now only have to find the perfect bank to rob, and a good crew to do it with
  16. Bonus points for Don!
  17. Scanning an vintage kit and with that data and incorporating some improvements retooling it.
  18. Hmmm wonder that if combined with the wagon a 4door is possible.
  19. Crossing my fingers too Steve, cuz great sales mean more money to be spend on likewise interesting improved reversed engineered projects. Two thumbs up!
  20. While I applaud Revell for tooling up a modern version, I do think that the Esci version stand it's ground especially that while it's curbside their chassis and suspension parts look more in scale then the oversize, dare I say, robust to play with parts of the new Revell version. Also a British modelling group has brought to attention that there were some errors in the RHD version. The plan in my head is to combine the Revel kit with the Esci, but so far I haven't bought the Revell kit.
  21. IIRC it was a 3rd party release.
  22. Or reversed engineered from an original promo with improvements
  23. You need this one then...
  24. Anyone remember, the flat-box Revell-Monogram '49 Mercury custom?
  25. Indeed, the automotive side of modelling is gradually morphing from toy to replica, catering to a much smaller but demanding group of customers. Trying to get kids involved is a total waste of recourses cuz in their mind, there is so much cooler stuff to do then static modelling
