  1. Stevens International lists a amt '64 Cutlass convertible as TBA, it's the annual kit with a newly tooled convertible body.
  2. There's funny thing about this version, which is... that they come with Mpc tires, the same which came in their Warlock Dodge uteline, an extra leaflet included in the box shows how to remove the "spider" from the tire prior to mounting the wheels.
  3. Just saw that today my local store shows it as in stock, one month earlier as they were told by their distributor, Think I'll pass there next week to pick up my reserved copy.
  4. So if I converted correct, the top of the roof has to be raised a little over 5mm BTW looks great!
  5. Yes, but It's also a smaller scale, and if you do want one, the aftermarket is huge! I'm pretty sure, the aftermarket will come to the rescue for those of us who want an engine, look what unfolded after the Hasegawa BMW 2002Tii came to market...
  6. Hmm...maybe the moderators should move part of this tread to the Tamiya GT4 discussion
  7. No matter what the box says, to me the Revell kit is a just a toy, made from the OEM 3D files of the car's skin, think lower price die-casts have more detail than that. Why Revell didn't do a full detail kit, maybe you have to ask a company rep, next time you see one at some hobby venue, but the last Corvette kit was also going the simplistic route, so I guess without OEM backing the ROI on modern factory stock cars isn't there anymore, most likely one of the reason Tamiya chose to do the GT4, as well as other oriental company's renewed interest in racing subject matter. Why Round2 did make a full kit from this gen Camaro, and not the Mustang, good question, which only Tom Lowe can answer, personally I don't give the Revell toy a pass, cuz I passed The Tamiya kit, even without an engine, as built by Sascha Müller, looks ready to race
  8. That isn't a kit, just an un-assembled promotional kids toy. For the rest I like engines, but sometimes sadly one can't have it all, my Tamiya kit is on order, but passing on the ex Mpc kit as it's not representing the subject matter to my liking.
  9. Indeed, good catch Rob! My Sheriff's and regular Blazer also.
  10. IIRC the top of the windshield trim will be the top of the new window opening on top of that you will need to scribe new window trim.
  11. have one, will scan and post later this evening..
  12. It didn't even met '88 expectations, but yes indeed Round2 prime target are the nostalgia seekers, therefore they even retool long lost odd custom stuff, most of the aged impulse buyers used for building their kit back in the day, when they were still in their single digits or fresh into the double, so guess in a few decades these nostalgia revival builds and partly builds will show on ebay as part of estate sales
  13. Indeed it hides all the shortcomings
  14. There's something wrong with that RR wheel, maybe it hit a curb or something
  15. and that's the way it should be no matter what the subject, people talking sharing views, to learn
  16. Maybe it's because the '52 ragtop wasn't breaking any sales records.....
  17. Interesting to learn about the Camaro misshap, but without 3D files and the original tooling models gone, it's indeed not as easy as it sounds, to perform mods, also since the breakdown of the body tooling-wise show that this version was never even taken into consideration, otherwise the front-upper would've been tooled as part of the front clip from day one. For the Mustang it would be much easier to do the front clip as a separate part, (per OEM ) with chrome headlamp buckets and clear lenses, making the tail-lamps separate is no brain surgery ether , but even though this car is a (and I quote Tim) "Modern Day 1955 Chevy" it looks like Round-2 doesn't see any ROI in upgrading the tool. Maybe a trauma from seeing all those Camaro, Firebird, Corvette, Viper and yes Mustang kits in sale bins at Toy Liquidators, back in the day
  18. Tim as I wrote, nice to dream, and do enjoy your retirement, I'm still 15 years short of mine. About the Fox Mustangs being the modern day 55 Chevy, interesting but also sad that the Round two didn't see ROI on improving this kit. The current Mustang, yeah....per capita I think Belgium consumes the bulk of output, might be the best selling US car in decades here.
  19. Just voicing a point of concern, which indeed may not be a problem and the buyer might even end up with a bunch of extra spare parts.
  20. That's just the "problem" there is no logic in the tool parts layout, therefore they clip off the not needed parts in the packaging process, now anyone who's a bit familiar with a production process know that's the weak link. When designing a tool, one has to group parts to specific release together, so they can be isolated or run depending on what version you're producing, now I'm not saying Moebius can't pull it off, it's just a word of caution, and if you have an open line with those in charge please message them, making sure the kit is according to specifications, before it hits the market.
