    Drag-u-la

Very cool. Gotta love the show rods...
  2. To paraphrase Robert Shaw in the movie "Jaws": "You're gonna need a bigger shelf..." For all that contest bling! Well done by all. Nice to see your kids enjoying the hobby too.
  3. What a great idea! And so very well done. And you got me laughing remembering all the funny scenes in that movie...
  4. Those decals look like fun, but you got them straight and true. Nice job.

    1961 Chevy

Great color choices. I like how you carried that interior color down to the wheels. Really makes them pop and pulls everything together with that nice body color.
  6. That looks cool and I bet it stands out on the shelf. Nice work on what looks like a challenging build.
  7. Nice save of a cool car. The rear wheel skirts are a nice touch. Did you scratch build those?
  8. That first picture says it all - it looks like a shot of the actual car sitting in the garage. Very nice work.

    1966 GTO

x2 Great looking model of what, IMHO, was the best year for the GTO.
  10. Very nice build and great detail throughout. Love the look of the engine bay and the "heat treatment" on the exhaust. You certainly got that beefy look you wanted - I know I'd leave something like this alone at the stop light...
  11. x2. Looks great out in the sun!
  12. Very nice work. I don't think it would be just kids who would have problems getting those long, heavy (in scale, at least) headers to stay in place without the aid of that support piece. And it looks just fine to me - I never would have guessed that was an issue if you had not mentioned it. Great looking show rod!
  13. Sweet looking build. Clean and nicely detailed. Interesting how both Ford and Chevy went to that "fast back" look for '67. Looks like the Galaxie and Impala even had the same sharp crease along the top of the rear fender line. Gotta wonder if some of the Ford and Chevy designers were golfing buds or something...
  14. Answering Steven Guthmiller's post: - It's a one piece chassis. I masked off and painted the frame after I applied the Tamiya Red Oxide primer to the entire part. - The exhaust is separate from the chassis. However, the pipes towards the back are molded with the rear axle as one piece. Also, the pipes at the front didn't quite meet up with the exhaust manifolds. I had to make "connectors" from some styrene tube stock. - Stance. Yes, the stance was extremely low in the rear. I had to add some half round styrene stock to the tops of the rear inner fender walls in under to get something acceptable to me. Also, the chassis has to go as far forward as it will go in the body in order to get the wheels centered in the wells.
  15. AMT '66 Glaaxie 500 7Liter kit. Inspiration for the build came from the June 2017 edition of "Muscle Machines" magazine. Kevin Oeste and his V8 Speed and Resto shop did the restoration. I watch his "Muscle Car of the Week" videos on YouTube all the time. In fact, if you do a search for "66 Galaxie 500 7 Litre", you can find and watch a nice little video on the restoration of this car. For my build, I didn't do the exact colors, but as it turns out, the Tamiya TS-92 Metallic Orange that I chose is not too far off from this Ford "Emberglo" color. I used generic Testors Brown and Light Ivory for the interior, mainly because I already had the paint and wanted to use it up. The only aftermarket part is the open element air cleaner from my spares bin, as I did not care for the look of the kit's chrome snorkel air cleaner. So here's my take:
  16. Really like that outdoor pic. Nice stance, beautiful color and shine. Looks really cool.
  17. The "wow" factor on your build is off the charts. Really nice work.
  18. Anybody driving a Panther Pink Charger better be packing a Hemi under the hood. Ain't nobody gonna mess with that! I'll bet the model looks pretty cool on the shelf too. Well done.
  19. I'm glad your white stripe decals behaved. (getting them to settle on that hood is a challenge, to say the least...) They look great with that blue body color and the white seats. Well done.
  20. Wow, that is some really nice, CLEAN, work. Beautiful from every angle. Well done.
  21. I did mine in a plain old Testors blue color and it just doesn't pop like your metallic blue does. Just out of curiosity, what was the paint? It looks great.
  22. That's a keeper. Literally, hang on to that one. I wish I still had my first one. Someday, he'll look at it and appreciate it and all the fun he had building it with Dad even more than he does now.
