  1. Hello Jordan, Adam, I think you're both right! I zoomed into the photo, and it may be a reincarnation of the old "Amigo Pack" kits, with the little dudes inside the box. I'm guessing the area at the top-right is actually a window where the 1:64 will eventually go, though for now it looks like we're just seeing sprues in behind. Thank you both, I hope this makes sense! Looking forward to getting this one!
  2. Thanks, Jordan, for your awesome review and pics! I've never built a diecast kit before, and this looks like a fine one to start with, thanks again!
  3. The 91 S-10 in the upper-right; it looks like it says something something DIE-CAST at the top of the box. Is this going to be a METAL-bodied kit? Hopefully it will be a reissue of this plastic kit!
  4. Agree 128%. These kits were way before my time, and only if/when HPI Guy does an unboxing/build do I get any sense of what is included, and what I might do to put my own spin on it. I very much appreciate Chris' Mooneyes dragster build, and that is one Atlantis model I plan to get. I've not seen anyone review their Yellow Fever Fiat, and I'm somewhat interested in getting that one. In general, I'm very critical of Atlantis' illustrations/paintings, graphic design and box marketing. They need to do a much better job selling to normies, casuals, and the curious. A few years back, a lot of builders were unpleasantly surprised by Atlantis' ex-Revell 57 Caddy, not knowing its super-vintage origins, the fact it had a multi-piece body and plastic tires, or that it was molded in red. Knowing is half the battle.
  5. Super excited to get all 3 of these; great job, cats!
  6. I've not seen Stranger Things, and I'm no BMW expert. When I search for an 83 733 Beemer, I see something that looks quite a bit like Monogram's old 635 CSi. It's a great kit, 75 parts sounds about right, and if they didn't sell it off to Atlantis, that could be the one. Throw in the Group 2 fender flares and rear wing, and it'd be a must-have.
  7. Will do, Brain, thank you! Almost done trimming and gluing all the subassemblies, working on the boom and rigging and stuff out back. I owe you the world for the idea for the snowplow, thanks! I've never weathered anything before, so this should be fun!
  8. Awhile back, Luka Cee deep dived into the 78 - 81 Camaros, comparing several MPC kits to real cars for reference. Worth a look, and should be somewhat relevant for the Monogram and Revell kits, too.
  9. Got mine yesterday, along with the 72 Ranger snowplow. Thanks to you cats, gonna build this wrecker with the plow. It's my first Moebius, and I'm impressed. Finished the engine, now working on the interior. The plan is to paint and weather it, missing hood and headlight, to look like Tow Mater (but sans eyes or teef), and a shiny new yellow plow. Great job, Moebius! Gone git 'er done, good buddy!
  10. Very nice, but where are the 3 seashells?
  11. In the 90s, we had the first golden age, featuring tons and tons of NEW kits. Now, Round2 is giving us a second golden age, featuring tons and tons of OLD kits. Could not be happier with the state of the hobby, and Round2 is knocking it out of the park nearly every month. Their new stuff, old stuff, and modified stuff keeps me buying more and more and more. Stuff I butchered as a kid. Stuff I'd forgotten about. Stuff I missed the first time around. Stuff I didn't even know I ever wanted. Working on the 60 Ford pickup as we speak, and even 5 years ago, it seemed like an impossible dream to ever build one, drooling over (Plowboy's?) build thread of an old promo. I've bought more Round2 kits since coming back to the hobby (8 years ago), than all the other kit makers combined. Nostalgia is one hell of a drug, and if Round2 ever reissues the 82 Cavalier, Night Prowler, Stunt Van, and a few others, my life will be complete, heh.
  12. Your efforts are greatly appreciated, Steve! IIRC, not all MPC kits from the early 80s had a full set of stock parts to create true 2n1 versions. Night Prowler, Monza "Pro Street", and I'm pretty sure there are a few others. What's really interesting about this new release is, it seems to have preserved the side exhausts and at least some of the parts for the optional twin turbos, last seen circa 1983-1984. Keep the hits coming, Steve, and we'll put your kids through college!
  13. Really stoked for the SSSSSSSSlasher; butchered that one as a kid. Built it in the style of Hemi Hunter (ex LA Dart). I opened up the trunk, stuffed in the engine, relocated the gas tank inside the engine compartment, and jacked the rear up super high, heh. This time, I'm gonna butcher this kit in all-new ways!

    PINTO!

Love me some Pintos; you cats make me want to build a fleet of them!
  15. Super excited and stoked to get these new kits; Round 2 continues to hit home run after home run!
  16. Agreed 128%, dudes. The all-new Blazer is a must-have, I've always wanted to build a T3 van, and the Camaro is a sweet variation on a classic kit most of us have built 1000 times. Just like Pokemon, we gotta catch 'em all!
  17. Heh, you're not wrong, DJ. It is a money-making/value-exchanging venture, for sure, and me personally, I don't mind one bit. I'm interested in kits, and HPI delivers the goods for me. As for others "hocking their wares" (and not to single anyone out), there are a few YT dudes who make their own custom resin/3D/aftermarket stuff, and/or promote businesses that do. I'm not personally interested in that stuff as a general rule, so I either skip those videos, or skip those segments. There are lots of people who are really into that stuff, and that makes them happy, and I am all for it. Hope that makes sense. This hobby needs, and has, lots of types of people, and I encourage everyone to do what works for them. Some lurk and build in isolation, while others travel, network, promote, write, publish, review, sell, sell, sell, and I love it all. Together, everyone keeps this hobby alive and thriving. It is all of you guys who introduced me to all kinds of new and interesting stuff. I give a 21-gun salute to anyone in this hobby making videos; it is a LOT of work, and mad respect to the dudes who can build and film and talk and NOT lose all their footage, or have their computers melt down! TL;DR... I love you cats, even though I tend to lurk more than post. You are all so knowledgeable, generous, helpful, creative, talented, skilled, accomplished, and humble. The builds you post, the ideas you come up with, the kit histories you share, it truly blows my mind. Godspeed, good sirs!
  18. You're not wrong, Tim. No doubt they have a lotta holy grails, and perhaps even an Ark of the Covenant, or two.
  19. Am I the only one who really wants to know EXACTLY the full inventory of what Atlantis bought from Revellogram? Over the past couple years, Atlantis has been drip-feeding us stuff, and it would be super awesome to know for sure whether they have X Y and Z in their inventory. Just off the top of my head: Olds Aerotech, Corvette Indy, Pontiac Banshee, Shelby Charger, Chevy Citation, 85-ish Dodge Daytona, Monroe Handler, and squillions more kits. Would be great to know what Revellogram blew off, and what we can expect to see from Atlantis in the coming years!
  20. Right you are, Andy. Awhile back some dudes here listed out the entire series of AWB cars AMT did back in the day. IIRC, one of the rarest was a 58 Edsel done in some sort of "outhouse" junker theme. Would be nice to get all of these back, including some all-new AWB bodies that never existed. For example, what if Round 2 made AWB bodies of their recent 63 Nova wagon, 65 GTO hardtop, or even 63 Ford pickup! They would sell like hotcakes!
  21. STREAKER! Judging by the parts shown on the box bottom, looks like Streaker-specific parts from the Olds 64 convertible and 442 kits have been snipped and added to this Time Machine redux. Seems like only the older "customized" grille/bumper assembly is included. So, if anyone wants to use the corrected/updated grille/bumper, and/or the dual judson blowers, they'll need to get a hold of either the convertible or 442 kit. NICE red glass option. Sweet pad-printed tires. Dis gon b gud! Thank you Round2!
  22. I appreciate everything you dudes are saying about HPI Guy, and I just realized another thing; he's pretty constant and reliable. He builds about 90%+ of what he gets, so whenever a Round 2, Moebius, Salvinos, or Revellogram kit gets announced, chances are quite good he's going to review/build it, and be the first to do so. Especially for those kits I can't wait for, kits I've never seen, and kits I haven't seen in decades, it truly is a pleasure to behold. And as far as some OTHER model car YouTubers go, some come late to the party, some are super niche, some do super rough builds, some post once a year, some never finish anything, and some spend a lotta time hocking their wares. I love 'em all, and HPI and Glen's Models/Model Cars with Glen are my fave of faves: https://www.youtube.com/@glensmodels/videos. Glen's ideas are insane in the membrane and off the chain! Check him out; you will be inspired! Back on topic, I'm McLovin this 68 F250. As eager as I am to get my hands on the upcoming 72 wrecker, I'm now seriously considering making it a 68!
  23. I'd be all over this one for sure. I've built nearly all the Galaxies, so this, and a companion 68, in time for Christmas 2025, would be most welcome additions beneath my tree.
  24. Right you are, Trevor! That is the exact one I ended up with too. Was about to start it when news came of the classique MPC soon to be back in the saddle again. While the AMT is nice, nostalgia is calling me to do a better job on the sssssslasher I butchered back in the day!
  25. Oh me oh my. This. 128%. I'm not too familiar with Tamiya sprays, but I'm kind of forced to use them now cuz no more Testors, Krylon short cuts, or any of the other stuff I was using 25 years ago. Earlier this year, I DESTROYED my Tamiya R34 VSpec with Tamiya TS-13 clear. Short story long: Tamiya light grey fine surface primer. Followed by a couple coats of Tamiya TS-92 Metallic Orange. Followed by a couple coats of Tamiya TS-13 clear (admittedly too heavy), and wow, it liquified the orange underneath, lifted it, melted it, and everything drooped and sagged. I was under the impression Tamiya sprays were acrylic. I've since been told that Tamiya clear is too hot, and at least one other person told me Tamiya sprays are full on lacquers. So then, I need to find a clear that is gentle. I'm open to any suggestions you cats may have on clear sprays that work nicely on Tamiya TS paints! I have a Black Beauty in TS-42 Light Gun Metal, and I want to give it a nice buffed clearcoat! In the meantime, thanks for your thorough explanation, Michael!
