  18. Well I couldn't help myself...spent the morning wet sanding all the mould lines, attached the front and rear valances, Primed with white sandable (Duplicolor) waited 3 hours and wet sanded some Ziggy hairs out of it and shot it with Duplicolor Royal Blue... Tested the decals by cutting out the license plates, sprayed 1 (top one) with Duplicolor Acrylic Lacquer clear,...2 light coats. After letting them sit 4 hours, I dunked them in the water and kept them wet until they started moving....they didn't...not one bit all afternoon. I kept massaging them with a wet paint brush, but nothing, so I went in with a new #11 and was able to get the blade between the decal and the paper...the untreated one (bottom) exploded..the top one came off the paper grudgingly, but had all the paper fluff on the back. So I turned it over and started cleaning...whew. I went ahead and shot the rest of the decals with clear On a happier note, I built a '59 Impala (Monogram 1:25) some years ago for my parents anniversary (their wedding car) sealed up hood and totally forgot I still had the 409 sitting in a box. I will need to exchange the carbs and intake to a 4 barrel, but...I have those in the stash... It's starting to come along...Oh and a big shout out to TJ (Jollysipper) who has offered to help out in the glass and chrome department.. Woohoo! thanks TJ Cheers

  22. After Dan raced it, he sold it to a British driver who later turned it into a tow/farm car and put an inline 6 in it... It was then bought by another Brit who did a full body off resto on it... If you get a chance, watch the YouTube video at the top of this post....worth the watch
  23. That's the real car Mark...Haven't started the kit yet...just doing research and tracking down parts so far... Going through my decal stash, I found out I kept the decals for the Impala, and found some suitable meatballs and numbers from the amt Sunbeam Tiger kit. I need some suggestions on clear coating decals...not sure these 40 yr. old? Impala decals will stand up to water as they are.....
