  1. I hear ya there Mark...this stuff doesn't stick at all...I remember the same problem about 10 years ago, but thought they would have fixed it by now. Anywho... Got it into clear Alclad Aqua Clear Gloss 3 coats, Testor clear parts glued in the glass, and worked on the bumpers and grilles ... Foil and paint needs some touch up I see... lol Needs a bungy up front and some tape on the headlights. Going to put some Silverstone starting lines on the base, and print some license plates, and send Dan and his Impala over to 'Under Glass' Thanks for looking in Cheers
  2. Very nice Ken ! I like the slight weathering you've done to it
  3. Nice work Kevin ! Bet yer glad to see that one finished up.
  4. Man that looks great Justin..well done
  5. Nice job Calvin..gotta love the old stock cars Well done engine ..the whole thing just sits right
  6. I like 'em both Mel ! Did you scratch build the seat in the Buick..?
  7. That looks great Eric..really like the colour did that kit come with a hard top ?
  8. Looks pretty good Keith...have you watched any of Night Shift on YouTube..? He does some amazing weathering, and explains it all along the way... Nice job on the Sherman!
  9. Ok, I chased that squirrel out of here, back to Dan's Impala.. Getting some BMF work done,.. unfortunately it is of the none sticky variety, very frustrating... My idea is to get it all on as best as possible, and then clearcoat the whole thing....we'll see... Gerry @Exotics_Builder was kind enough to send me a 1:25 figure which got modified with a new head from GF models in Greece, and some scratchbuilt driving goggles More to follow Cheers
  10. Gotta love an orange Lambo...nice fix on the door Carl
  11. Very nice clean build Chuck, totally unexpected from you...lol I like alot Can't wait to see what tire/wheel combo you come up with !
  12. I used this to mark the screen with a pencil, and then cut it using my p/e scissors after drilling out the headlight cover...worked up to 7/32" bit, started with 1/8"... did the trick Hows Bertha coming along..?
  13. Well done Yoshi ! You've really got a handle on those old NASCAR racers ! Cheers
  14. Thanks Pierre, I think it's closer to the actual car, but not perfect..the whole front clip should be turned down another 1/8"...or more But it's done and I like it... Thanks Mark..my grandparents had a couple generations of Montes back in the day, and I remember they were huge ,..front end wise..the doors were 6' long it seemed.. Thanks Jim... Duplicolor Victory Red wins again Thanks Todd Thanks Scott..Sanding the spears on top of the front quarters down to the front really helped the look, as well as about 100 other things..lol Thanks Chris Thanks Bob, can't ask for a better compliment than that ! All in all it wasn't too bad to build, this is one of the first Salvinos kits they released, albeit the upgraded boxing, the instructions are terrible, the parts fit as well. The thing that saved me was going back in the NASCAR threads and researching all the downfalls and fixes listed by other builders here. Like @jjsipes mentioned in his thread that the chassis needs to have a certain set back when joining them together of 6/32" ...little things like that saved the build. Cheers
  15. I hope you get quicker service than I have been getting...12 weeks after paying them, and still no proof sheet for my Rod Hall Bronco 🤨
  16. Built this one some years ago... Never liked the rounded back end so started adding plastic and bondo until....
  17. I like the slight weathering on it Dustin...nice work !
  18. Nice clean build George..I like the stance you got out of that old kit. Paint and finish look great!
  19. Dude, me too..been waiting 12 weeks on STS decals to give me at least a proof of the decals...😑
  20. What kind of paint is it on? I would say isopropyl alcohol if it's not on acrylic paint, otherwise WD40 works well taking goo off..but try it on a like painted surface first.
  21. Thanks Mark ! and again thanks for sending the screen Glad you like it Jack The sun came out so got some sunshine pics
  22. After alot of body and bumper mods, I'm calling this one complete Wanted to thank Mark @Mark W for sending me the fine mesh you see on the front grille, as well as the many visitors to the WIP with comments and suggestions about the build. The WIP https://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/forum/32-wip-nascar/ Being my first Salvinos build, the learning curve was steep, but not impossible,... I would build another. Most of the extra work involved getting the body into a shape that more resembled the actual car. Thanks for looking in,.. questions, comments, and critiques always welcomed. Cheers
  23. I ended up using the Salvinos suspension all around, cause I wasn't used to these kits and didn't want any more work than I already had...lol Anyway, big shout out to Mark @Mark W for sending me some of the finest mesh I've seen, to complete the front end And with that done, it's off to 'Under Glass'. Cheers
  24. I found out that the fire wall needs to sit in front of the locator tab inside the body behind the front wheel openings. That helped alot...
