Been wondering that one myself. I just finish a trade with him not long ago. I posted in the good traders section, but never heard back.

Compliments on posted models

I like it!!! But then i'm a sucker for primered '55 chevy drag cars.. That's the way I would build it if given the chance. I give credit where its due, and if i don't think much of a build, i keep my thoughts to myself. Since I don't post any of my own builds, i don't think i have the right to negatively critique anyone else's work. Just my 2 cent's.... -

An apology

Your photo's are about as close as i'll probably ever get to seeing that beautiful countryside, so seeing your OUTSTANDING builds set against such scenic backdrops is a small treat in my book!!! Keep up the good work, sir!!! -
Mr. Barris would have been proud. Good lookin sled man!!!!

Good information to have. Thanks. I've been lucky and haven't had too many bad burn throughs on paint jobs so far, I tried Meguiar's, but it actually lifted the paint i was using.

X2. I've been building for quite awhile now, but its just been recently, and with a lot of good advice from this forum, that I am just now learning to do some decent paint jobs. Polishing pads and Novus polish are absolute life savers!!! I can polish out dust, scratches, and even a bug or two, and the finish is fantastic. But it takes time, trial and error, and patience to get where you want to be. You'll get there. I like the color you chose for your Bee.

Leave the lenses caps on, less eye strain. TALL privacy fences make good neighbors. -
AMT '39 / '40 Ford Sedan

Yep. Living that one as we type. Older woman turned left right in front of my wife. Bright sunny day, bright red Pontiac Grand Am, Not another soul behind my wife in traffic, but this old lady just HAD to turn first. Two surgeries, years of physical therapy, and mountains of medical bills. I DID call our lawyer, and we are suing the insurance company, due to the fact that this lady had 3 (!) previous accidents in that past month alone, and the Highway Patrol ordered that she have her licence suspended till such a time as she could be tested for competency after the first wreck. She was sighted for wreckless op all 3 previous times, but the insurance company sat back and did NOTHING. The DMV yanked her license after the first wreck, but evidently the DMV and insurance company don't talk, because she caused a further 2 wrecks resulting in injuries. Our lawyer has 3 different signed affidavits from the Highway Patrolmen who were at my wifes wreck that stated the older woman shouldn't have even been driving!!! Its been 2 years since the wreck. I won't ever call it an "accident" because it was anything BUT. It may sound cruel, but i hope if that lady is still on the road, that the NEXT person she pulls out in front of is driving a SEMI...

AMT '39 / '40 Ford Sedan

Does anyone know if the Revell '40 coupes frame and running gear would fit under the older sedan body? THAT would get my attention. -
Outstanding Marlowe!!! Beautiful work!!

Bill had mentioned that the guy was threatening to call his lawyer. Well the cops may not mess with it, but a lawyer most certainly will if he/ she see's money in it. Lawyers can be a real pain, but they they also know the ins and outs of the law. Should Bill be so disposed to go that route and deal with the POS on his own terms they can most certainly get a "court order" for said cell phone records. Not to mention most new cars have the automotive worlds version of a black box. Long story short, if they want the info bad enough and want to prove a point. They will get that info. Myself, if the little azzclown wants to spout off at the mouth, i personally would call him on it. And since Bill was the one who got hit, I would think he's in the clear here. Too many times in situations like this, people resort to the "lawyer" trump card to try and intimidate the other party into either taking responsibility for the wreck, or paying for it out of pocket. Some joker tried that with my wife not too long ago, and now my wife has a new car in the driveway, and that individual no longer has a valid drivers license.
-
If they check his cell record and find he has yapping or texting on his phone at the time of the wreck, he's toast. Not only will his insurance, provided he HAS insurance, will spike. AND he'll receive a ticket for reckless op, which stays on his record. I drive an older truck myself, just because of azzclowns like him.
-
After that, i think i'd walk... GEEZE Harry.LOL
-
Its just my own guess, but it was probably him playing on said phone and not paying attention that caused the wreck. They can check his cell phone records to confirm. I think they all do that now as SOP.

The Confederate Air Force had a air worthy PBY-5A, and they did a piece on it for an article. The photo ship piper cub had to tuck in close to take some photo's and was actually cruising UNDER the starboard wing close to the gun blister of the PBY fuselage, and the pilot of the cub could look out his starboard window and STILL be covered by the PBY's wing. Those planes could cruise for thousands of miles on patrols. Lean out the fuel mixture, hang it off the props, and just cruise. 'bout 85 knots or so, just fast enough for good control response.
-
I love that plane for the fact that it combines 2 of my other favorite subjects. Ships and planes. The PBY-5 was used in larger numbers for Black Cat missions than the 5-A due to available airframes in theatre at the time of Guadalcanal operations (42-43). I like either one. The wingspan on those things was over 100 ft!!!

Another Pledge with Future Question
bismarck replied to StevenGuthmiller's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Amen!!! I use the corner of a paper towel and "wick" it off of the edge of a fender well or corner if it builds up too much.
