Just finished up an OUTSTANDING trade with AFX, (JC Reckner).Fast trader, Great communication, Nuff Said!!!

I used that line of paint on my Auto Car dump truck cab with pretty darn good results. It took about a week or so to gas out enough to wet sand and polish, but its durable and polishes out nice.

Hmmm, I'm thinking mid- engine wheelstander drag van with a wild paint job. I like it Oddvar!! It has all kinds of possibilities as a drag race vehicle too. They are re-issuing this one? -
I like it!! Always have liked the lines of that body style of Fairlane.

I LOVE they're stuff!! I need a second job to buy all the stuff i want from his site. I've ordered krawler tires from him, and they are TOP SHELF!!! -
You read my mind!!! Perfect moonshine runner for sure!!!

Launch geometry. Push "go" pedal HARD. Back of car drops under hard torque and acceleration, thus compressing said half leaf springs, moving forward. NOSE of car lifts up, thus giving the impression of that nose high stance that some (including myself till recently) people get confused with how a gasser looks at rest. My point being the 1/2 rear leaf springs of the early gassers allowed enough travel under hard acceleration to "pop" the front end into the air for snap weight transfer to the back. Get that formula wrong, and it makes for some killer wheel stands too!!! I wonder how many seat cushions vanished till they came out with the wheelie bar?
-
I liked the nose high look at first, but then I grabbed a copy of the gasser build rules, and it was a real eye opener. I had been building my gassers wrong for quite awhile. It LOOKS cool on some cars, but its not realistic with the 1:1 rulebook. Wasn't that the reason for the 1/2 leaf springs on the rear ends of the early gassers, to get more rear suspension travel to get the nose up on launch for better/ faster weight transfer?

REALLY late posting that I finished a great trade with Vince Nelson. CRS setting in. Thanks for the great trade Vince!! You were also my 1000th post. WOOHOO!!

I'm sure he'll pop back up shortly. I haven't tried to p/m him, but he's pretty heavily involved in I.T. stuff where he works, and the last time they had a problem, he was pulling long hours at work. I haven't seen him on here in awhile though. Last time I talked to him, work was keeping him hopping.

Been wondering that one myself. I just finish a trade with him not long ago. I posted in the good traders section, but never heard back.

I like it!!! But then i'm a sucker for primered '55 chevy drag cars.. That's the way I would build it if given the chance. I give credit where its due, and if i don't think much of a build, i keep my thoughts to myself. Since I don't post any of my own builds, i don't think i have the right to negatively critique anyone else's work. Just my 2 cent's.... -

Your photo's are about as close as i'll probably ever get to seeing that beautiful countryside, so seeing your OUTSTANDING builds set against such scenic backdrops is a small treat in my book!!! Keep up the good work, sir!!! -
Mr. Barris would have been proud. Good lookin sled man!!!!
-
Good information to have. Thanks. I've been lucky and haven't had too many bad burn throughs on paint jobs so far, I tried Meguiar's, but it actually lifted the paint i was using.
-
X2. I've been building for quite awhile now, but its just been recently, and with a lot of good advice from this forum, that I am just now learning to do some decent paint jobs. Polishing pads and Novus polish are absolute life savers!!! I can polish out dust, scratches, and even a bug or two, and the finish is fantastic. But it takes time, trial and error, and patience to get where you want to be. You'll get there. I like the color you chose for your Bee.

Leave the lenses caps on, less eye strain. TALL privacy fences make good neighbors.
