  1. He took it down I think at the end of last month, or at the end of June. Not much traffic over there.
  2. Love the car, and the color!!?
  3. So true.?
  4. That color makes it look like the one the Count from Counts Customs has. Love the color. Bring one the white ceramic coated side pipes!! ?
  5. I always wondered why they never used the 68-72 nova platform for trans- am style racing. Yes, the Nova shares a lot of components with the Camaro. I had a 1:1 69 nova, and a pretty good parts interchange manual.
  6. I vote Plum Crazy Purple. For the color.?. Lookin good so far Ken !!
  7. One pot hole in this state would KILL that thing.....
  8. Is it true that the Pacer had one door longer than the other? I’ve always heard the rumor, but never checked the measurements myself.
  9. ?. Yep. Even customized, that thing looks hideous. Save the chassis, scrap the rest...
  10. My older brother did 2 tours in Vietnam. His first stint was during Tet, then later during the draw down. He never was the same when he came home. The long term damage done to him there was more than he could deal with. We lost him in 2006. I had the privilege of being part of the Honor Guard at the graveside. It’s pretty tough to be locked up at attention listening to TAPS knowing it’s your own going into the earth. I put my flag out every Memorial Day for him, my Dad, my Grandfather, and lastly myself.
  11. What he said!! ?? VERY nice.
  12. I was hoping you would finish this one. I first saw it when you posted the “ in progress” pics during the build off, and the look of that bug is awesome!! When I was in the Service, a guy in our unit had a bug set up like yours.??
  13. Yep!! I had that one in my matchbox collection too. I thought that paint color looked familiar.
  14. Wow, that picture brings back some good memories. We had a similar one in my home town years ago. Thanks for the pic Joe. ?
  15. Looking good Ken. I’m watching.??
  16. Saw RUSH live in Pittsburgh on they’re “Roll The Bones” tour. RIP Neil. ?
  17. 88 Ford ranger shortbed that someone had swapped in a Chevy 350 with a Hurst shift kit, ford 9 inch rear and fender well headers. They had taken out the brake booster to make room for the engine, which left only drum brakes. Went like stink in a straight line, but braking, not so much!! I owned it for about 2 weeks and sold it. That thing was FAST, but to scary for my taste.
  18. I’ve done just that. It works great!?
  19. I’d be in for 1 or 2. I love old buses. ?
  20. Outstanding build Hermann!! I have been following your build thread from the beginning. Love the detail work. ??
  21. Very true. Your righ. You might be able to come up with some sort of clamp system to hold an insert / tool holder, but you could forget about any kind of accuracy. With no way of touching off and no cross feed. I wouldn't try it. I've tried some pretty sketchy stuff on my lathe at work, and still have all my fingers.
  22. For harder metals, yes. That is too fast, but for aluminum, you have to use higher speeds to get a smoother finish. Aluminum doesn't "cut" like regular metals. It's an alloy. It has to be sliced. Try using a regular cutting insert to machine aluminum, and it will look horrible when your done.
