Cool build, even more when you consider it took only 9 hours... love it! -
So this is a simple kit and probably designed for slot car conversion, but I'm going to try my best to give it some minor mods that make it look less toy llike. This pic shows how many parts there are, above and beyod this is the tyres, the clear bits and the decal sheet. The body has had the mould lines cleaned up - they were quite severe, hopefully not lost too much detail with the sanding. The seats didn't have a cushion, so made them with a sheet of styrene. The dash and foot wells look too basic - so will be modding them a bit. This will be the centre console - again out of sheet styrene These little pieces with end up being the pedals- again out of styrene sheet.

That orange looks fantastic!

Agree with Bee, great sharp builds, but the green one pops!

This is a cool build, love the LW kits, they are kust too pricey for me. The dash turned out great, love the c way that the paint looks textured. Iteresting camo design too!

Fantastic paint job! Shame the doors have to be glued shut...

Hi Sonny, it was the orange peel and graininess of the clear coat that I wasn't happy with, but it was mostly dust free - which is a first! This has now been sanded and polished using Tamiya 2000 grit wet and dry, then Micromesh 3600, 4000, 6000, 8000, then Tamiya Coarse and Fine polish. The only burn through can be seen on the very tip of the nose in the last image, I'm happy with how its turned out - now I need to mask and paint the trim!

Cool build, and what a journey, i certainly don't have the patience to perfect a model like this. The biggest problem i had with mine was the fit of the body shell to the chassis. There are some tabs in the engine bay that conflict... Good advice on the aging and just do it now! -
Super cool build! Enjoying the thread!

This has now been primered, coated ina few coats of Zero Paints Metallic red mixed with Gloss Black & then coated in Proscale 2K clear. Really not happy with the clear. I think i added too much thinner. last 2 goes on this clear have not turned out well... It looks purple in real life, not brown like the images!

Thanks Robert, I will try this, I'm guessing you would use a naked flame for the heating? -

So this was Clear Coated with Proscale 2K using Mr Thinner The finish is terrible, there are pin holes where the paint didn't want to sit properly, I even (at the time of painting) tried to move the clear coat over the "dip", but it didn't work - there are a few places like this in the wing- you can see a big one over the "M" of the decal - I'm assuming this is due to it not being clean - I did clean with mild dish soap & a soft brush... Then the main body is a mess - quite rough, lots of graining & orange peel. So it's going to be sanded, but there are a lot of curves and details, will be difficult to do this, but I'm going to try! -
Beautiful looking Aston!

Decals applied & split on the rear quarter on both sides, but the rest of the decals went on OK - only with a lot of decal softener. As can be seen, the decal softener left lots of marks on the decals, it didn't clean up with soap either, hoping that it cleans up with clear coat. I have bought some Green acrylic, and whilst the lid looks the same as the bright green decal, it goes on a lot darker, I'm going to mix it with white and try again.
