Monogram Ferrari GTO 1/24 Scale the 5 year build
Funkychiken replied to Funkychiken's topic in WIP: Model Cars
This next update shows where I am with the interior - it's complete now, the seat belts were a P/E addition, the cross brace is just a bit of ali tube, the gear stick is a dress pin (stolen from the wife, pls don't tell her) Mainly finished with Tamiya acrylics airbrushed, except the steering wheel & the glossy bits - which are hand brush painted... -

Yes the detail is excellent - under the body! & Thanks! The bosy has fought me - for 5 years! That update is for later Thanks! Thanks! -
I meant screwfix, but it got autocorrected!

That is a great collection for us only being 3 months into the year. Great quality builds and I like the subjects. I've always wanted to get a Merc 300, but I've got book on many kits already....

Your paintwork is amazing, and your imagination - probably even better!

Nice clean finish of a great car!

I saw one of these at my local screws last year, it was chuffing enormous when viewed alongside trannies... Great build though!

The Chassis and Engine went together really well, no real issues, I added ali tubes for pots, Tamiya tape painted black for the drive belt & Prancing Horse symbols on the cam covers, everything else is stock -

Clearly there are much better kits than this to represent the real Ferrari GTO, but apart from the body shell, it's been a fulfilling build, and includes a number of firsts for me... -
I started this kit in December 2012 over Christmas break. I purchased my first ever Airbrush & decided to use this kit as a practice kit for honing my AB skills. In the next few posts I'll explain the issues that I've had. that have kept this on and off the bench for 5 years!

Excellent progress and thanks for sharing the details! What filler and sanding stick brands do you use please? All your PE work looks awesome, are you using superglue, if so, what brand? Cheers! -
99% done on this, the only remaining task is the Hartge Stripes... Next post will be in the finished section! The plastic wipers got melted with me trying to make them conform to the shape of the windscreen, so I've made up some PE ones, they turned out OK. The colour combination of the turquoise interior with green exterior does not work so well, but wanted to do something different...

Sweet paintwork!

Ash, it's another excellent build!
