  1. The main reason this build was on the bench for 5 years is the body shell. It has been primered, sanded and filled again and a gain about 5 times. It has been AB'ed with Tamiya X-7 acrylic, major orange peel & fully sanded back to the bone Then it has been primed again with Halford's grey and the paint cracked all over, sanded back again All this sanding has left some details lost along with my patience, but I'm determined to finish it...
  2. Thanks for the info Jonathan, its looking great.!
  3. Looking mightily impressive so far Dan, love following along with this!
  4. Looks great! you make it look so easy! How do you pick out the interior silver detail? with a and brush, or paint pen?
  5. Matt, this car looks excellent, really nice finish, and great photos too!
  6. Looks like a lot if detail on this one, good luck
  7. Your hand painting skills are excellent!
  8. Well I love this kind of kit, it's right up my street, and it's a great build so far!
  9. It's a piece of artwork!
  10. Looks great so far! I have a question or two though... Are you clearcoating before and after decals? If so, what clear coat are you using, and do you suffer from fit issues where the two gloss coats are too thick? Cheers! Great detail inside those doors! Are they hand painted details, or lots of masking and spraying?
  11. Nice wheels!
  12. I've got several on the go, but wanted to start one of my skyline kits, I've got several in the stash & it's one of my favourite motors. this is not a GTR, but it was cheap on eBay, something like a tenner including postage. It's not a great kit & some of the mouldings are of poor quality, i'm not intending on putting a lot of extra details in, but want it to look good in the cabinet - so the focus will be on the exterior. Photos are Box art, Chassis completed & misalignment of the exhaust box with the body shell shown!
  13. It's a great start of a lovely car!
  14. well worth finishing with all that detail & effort! Looking great!
  15. Great skilful build so far. I find most muscle cars sit too high...
  16. This next update shows where I am with the interior - it's complete now, the seat belts were a P/E addition, the cross brace is just a bit of ali tube, the gear stick is a dress pin (stolen from the wife, pls don't tell her) Mainly finished with Tamiya acrylics airbrushed, except the steering wheel & the glossy bits - which are hand brush painted...
  17. Yes the detail is excellent - under the body! & Thanks! The bosy has fought me - for 5 years! That update is for later Thanks! Thanks!
  18. I meant screwfix, but it got autocorrected!
  19. That is a great collection for us only being 3 months into the year. Great quality builds and I like the subjects. I've always wanted to get a Merc 300, but I've got book on many kits already....
  20. Your paintwork is amazing, and your imagination - probably even better!
  21. Nice clean finish of a great car!
  22. I saw one of these at my local screws last year, it was chuffing enormous when viewed alongside trannies... Great build though!
  23. Agree with all the comments, it looks great!
  24. The Chassis and Engine went together really well, no real issues, I added ali tubes for pots, Tamiya tape painted black for the drive belt & Prancing Horse symbols on the cam covers, everything else is stock
  25. Clearly there are much better kits than this to represent the real Ferrari GTO, but apart from the body shell, it's been a fulfilling build, and includes a number of firsts for me...
