DO you mean Custom parts or STYLINE parts?
-
It might be like the 50 Ford where 1/2 the Styline parts returned. I looked at the Round2 picture and it appears to be a 1970-1972 issue kit. The styline parts disappeared in the late 60s I believe. No sure if the chrome axles are going to be there or not too. The original kit gave the option of running a straight metal axle or steerable wheels in the front. It will be interesting to see.

I thought about that trailer but a 22" boat really needs a 4 wheel trailer for the load. The old AMT trailer from the 1960-1961 AMT pickup trucks might be a be starting point with much modification.
-
The Owens has 2 nice Evinrude 75 hp outboard motors. The other kit, the Century Coronado is an inboard. It was one of the hottest selling boats in 1959*1960. These kits realy need a 4 wheel boat trailer which is up to the modeler. The AMT boat /trailer was a Chris-Craft Cutlass , also a popular boat

I checked out your tip, Thanks

Moderator, move this to general, if you please

Because it was exactly here it happened. Mabye, general topic would be better. Snake is correct. It was the ad that changes. I should have snapped a cell photo. It was not exactly a virus but a link to extract my name and password; to get full entry to my computer, they wanted my cell number too by insisting that I call. Ctrl-Alt -delete did no good as did pulling the battery. Mal Ware found nothing. I als able to X out close each browser window , then it disappeared. I hope for good.

The original MPC body had Mustang embossed on the fender. Too bad I through away the built body that I had

This site has a virus or back door Trojan placed on this page. It infected my computer.

1968 Chevrolet El Camino SS Soap Box Derby II
Bob Ellis replied to regular guy's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
This will be a '68 Chevelle fo sure as the '69 has been in obscurity for 47 years. Nothing is common. You can't fit the front bumpers in each other. The 1969 is based on the 1968-1972 annual kits and is not as well done as ERTL's 1968 -
Rex, thanks for the photo. According to your photo, the racing decals are useful. I question where Round2 and MPC thought the black stripes were of any use to do a stock 1973 Mach1?
-
The blue backing are the Round2 decals included in the new MPC 1973 Mustang reissue. They are exactly reproduced incorrect as MPC did them 43 years ago. The lower ones are the annual AMT1973 kit and are correct for a MACH1. I scanned them if anybody cares
-
You need Keith Marks 1973 decals. I have the annual AMT 1973 Mustang kit. It had correct Mach1 decals
-
Hero Imperial was a 1966.
-
I tried to use Corvair AMT compact tires and they didn't fit well
-
Personally, I think the AMT 1973 grille is better than the MPC. This is about a straight re-issue of the ERTL 1971 BOSS 351. . It is not an exact reissue of the annual 1973 MPC Mustang annual. But, has all the original interior and chassis parts that you need. The "Mustang emblem is not on the side of the front fenders. That huge front bumper will not pass for 1971 or 1972. Is it worth buying? Yes and no. Decals are incorrect Mach 1 stripes. Tire are lettered nicely. The chrome tree dates back to the 1966/67 kit

True movie car kits sold well but the idea of a Cobra killer Sunbeam should be equal. I remember when AutoWorld took my $2.00 for a stock 1958 Edsel kit that was in their catalog They dropped it and returned my money. They formulate plans and then drop them after pre-orders are disappointing. There is something odd about the kit that makes me thinks that Smart was an after thought. Maybe I am wrong?
-
Probably true. I have both kits;69 and 70. Doesn't seem like too many common parts
-
Too bad nobody from AMT 1960s is still around to ask questions . It wouldn't surprise me if the Sunbeam kit was designed at the same time as the Cobra kit. Then in 1965-1967 they decided to sell it as a Get smart kit. I have a built Get Smart and the Round2 hood machine gun doors will come in handy.
-
I have the new MPC 73 Mustang. Same as the Ertl Boss 351 issue. Has the BIG 5mph front bumper and a correct 73 grille insert not in the 351 issue. NO side glass like the original.

Oldie but goodie. '48 Ford Sedan Coupe SD
Bob Ellis replied to Lovefordgalaxie's topic in Model Cars
THAT IMC kit came out in the mid 60s. I wouldn't say the Revell is better. -
On Fort Belvoir , VA the post commander had 1971 Ford Custom painted in shiney olive drab. It was much more dark than an oxidized od. Really looked good considering it had virtually no chrome
-
I have the frame to that kit. It's a shortened 1967 frame. Compared to the Impala, AMT's Corvette looks great.
