  1. great job. I really like the opening doors and trunk.
  2. Are they selling those figures?
  3. Is Revell doing a 1958 Impala convertible? I saw a photo from the German toy .
  4. I agree , automotive primer after a good cleaning makes the paint stick to resin. I use 0000 steel wool as well to rough the surface
  5. MY original 1970 annual Superbee had 2 chrome Superbee emblems for the hood and trunk. I didn't see them in the last Round2 issue
  6. Comes in different box design now
  7. I wonder if China feels the same way about AMT and MPC kits they didn't design. Possesion is 9/10 of the law.. The computer design they can't control. Can go anywhere.
  8. Trim was Evergreen Styrene. It was a major job scribing the hood open as the 1958 plastic was very think and hard. A brasstube an brass rod became a hood hinge. It took 2 Ranchero kits. The roof needed to be lengthened. You can see where the red and blue kit parts are mated together. Revell inner fender wells were glued to the underneath of the AMT front clip. The wheels are 1970s AMT Street Rods parts from 1964 Impala (1973 issue) Tires are skinny Revell Goodyears painted whitewalls. Fortunately the headlights in the AMT 1958 Ford were not glued in. I did not destroy a mint 1958 Ford Sunliner!
  9. Thank you Nick
  10. Ford decided not to use the 1958 station wagon tail lights so it was easier to use old Ranchero kit. Roof was wrong so I extended it ( Revell used 4dr front doors.) Wimbelton white and some red that I can not remember.
  11. I used an annual 1958 Sunliner and the original Ranchero kit
  12. I used this kit to build a 1972 Elcamino ( front clip from a AMT 1972 Chevelle kit)
  13. I use polished smooth Rhinestones from Michaels or JoAnn Fabrics. MV lenses are $2 each but Rhinestones 50 for $3
  14. I got some hoods from him. They were great. Bought off eBay.
  15. I remember when that kit came out in 1976. I couldn't believe what I saw in a little hobby store in Bangor ME ,Last of the new kits from the old AMT I like the colors you painted it.
  16. I found this kit on a store shelf in 1973 along with the MPC 1968s. I left the sealed AMT and bought the MPCs. Your build is beautiful and makes me think differently now.
  17. This is the MPC 1970 Firebird kit? I don't have the decals just the car.
  18. Good point, unless GM help fund the project?
  19. It was from a automotive magazine back in the day. Had pictures of production at AMT. My point was to illustrate that the model business is not the same . There was more money back then to roll out new kits. "3000 models/day" Rod and Custom August 1964
  20. The box is nice
  21. AMT made 14,000,000 models in 1964. Ran 3 shifts with about 1000 workers
  22. I disagree that the boats are trash. The Century is an iconic 50s boat and can be built nice. The Owens 22' has nice realistic 1960 Evinrudes.
  23. I always thought CHevy Impalas had resonators on the end of the tail pipe. Maybe revell copied an Impala with a new exhaust system installed?
  24. Steve , Nice job. You are the first guy to accent the tail lights on the red Revell kit. The AMT kit has the bezel showing 3 spaces . Most leave the Revell with one large red lense.
