I had a real 1976 Mustang. It was not as bad as everybody says. Not just a Pinto at all. I built both the AMT and the MPC kits. I liked both but the MPC more detailed and more fragile.
The kit is not that bad. When AMT released the annual kit in 1967 as a Trophy Series, they ruined the headlights. They removed the bezels and the appropriately sized clear lights. Whatever money they saved was not worth it.
I always thought their was an arrangement or mole moving designs from AMT to MPC. AMT/MPC same truck 1967-1968. In 1969 the AMT was new tool with a big block motor instead of 327 small block. plus the hoods don't fit too well swapped. In 1971 AMT flipped over to GMC. That Sierra Grande became shortbed stepside T409 after MPC did longbed stepside . Stock release of any of these kits would be nice.
They put the tires in separate bags now as are all the parts. I believe tire burn need heat like from the attic. All of the 60s kits that I bought in the 70s were fine until I built them and stored in the attic
Let's assume Round2 will never produce a brand new kit. We know the AMT 1964 Cutlass convertible exists though altered wheelbase and windshield removed. Why not do that one as the 1964 4-4-2?
