  1. Good move. If the things I had were floaters, they were more like specks or a tiny strand of fuzz that looks like it could be on the surface, but know that it is not. Something especially big and noticeable as a sort of half circle can be a partly detached retina from what I've heard from two different people who actually had that happen. A professional can tell you absolutely what it is if they can see it for themselves.
  2. The Chrysler does seem to have a look of astonishment on its face.
  3. Looks really useful to me! https://www.amazon.com/Triangle-Coatings-Sophisticated-Antiquing-antiquing/dp/B004BNDH0M/&qid=1596863090
  4. Wasn't aware of that line of cars 'til now. Tough looking.
  5. Welcome! It looks like somebody walked through one of the city parks with a backpack Google Streetmobile thing. https://www.google.com/maps/@53.9066561,27.557696,3a,75y,274.11h,93.28t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sAF1QipOPkM4u3immyWoz8rgsTlDQo4ZLPhVvKUa7mpUr!2e10!7i6080!8i3040 Must be nice there in the summertime.
  6. That's why I'll never make a dime of profit from what I charge for shipping on the random old stuff I sell on ebay.
  7. Got any outdoor sunlight photos? That color probably is really striking out there.
  8. Lacking spotlights and twin radio antennas, though.
  9. Great! The Woodlights would definitely make it distinctly different.
  10. Wow! Jealous of your ability to get things done. My rod project is headed in a different direction, but I haven't had time to make an inch of progress with it. Hope some of the leftover parts from my pile were helpful, and glad they went to a good home if they did.
  11. Yay! (sn a a a a ail mail)
  12. Courtesy of "Modlbldr" Tom here, one of my partly stalled hot rod projects will be able to make a bit more headway toward the seaside.
  13. Wow! Clueless about such things, it looks like a pistol with every extra option on it like those old AMT 3-in-one kits.
  14. Let me know when the random leftovers I sent arrive, the shipping to a foreign country suspense is killing me!
  15. Knew you were officially involved in building construction in some manner .... didn't know you also did deconstruction. =)
  16. I live so hopelessly in the past, WWII is something that still feels like it was only 30 years ago. It was the most formative time in the lives of every adult I knew, so that's why it made such an impression on me.
  17. Shortbed fleetside might be a bit of a challenge ....
  18. You have my sympathies, been there, done that with my stalled-to-this-day Cobra berlinetta project with its Jag V12. Basically finished the engine, just not the rest of the car ....
  19. That's what I was trying to figure out in my MCM post I had for that same odd AMT kit in April. I'd swear I saw it in full size somewhere ......
  20. Yep, learned that the hard way from a thread over at one of my other vehicle forums -- so what helps for posterity is for guys to copy 'n paste some of the important text of the ad and to do a screen grab (the photo links themselves usually go bad, too) of one of the best full vehicle photos from the ad.
  21. Very nice, and those photo angles give it an amazing look of realism! If you didn't see it, I altered the original artwork of the AMT box in those colors, except with white border striping and the lighter color for the tanks, second illustration here.
  22. Well, I'd call this "not model related" since it isn't a plastic model kit or a factory built die cast. I was the single winning bidder at $9.95 for it on eBay, the seller said it was "a display piece for Spring clothing at a large Department store in Cleveland," given to him in the 1990s as a gift. Apart from the bottom 1/3rd of the wheels/tires, I really can't spot any other seam lines, so it is possible that the entire body is a single chunk of easily carveable but moderately heavy wood. I don't think it's balsa wood unless that comes in heavier forms. A magnet sticks to the roof rack and the two straps holding the surfboard. It's just a bit over a foot long, scale size is maybe between 1/16 and 1/12. Whoever carved and painted it definitely was talented!
  23. This one has been relisted in ebay's Vintage category for over year, started out at Buy it Now $115. Those who remember the Monogram red & black Early Iron '30 phaeton will easily recognize tand guess why it hasn't sold yet. "Professionally built vintage 1/24 scale 1930 Ford Hot Rod (Early Iron)" https://www.ebay.com/itm/254607534037
  24. I've always liked this June Tabor "No Man's Land" version of that poem. Me, I was too young for one of our wars, too old for the next, so it's difficult for me to ever fully comprehend what that's like, but I still appreciate what's been done for the country, and I try to basically abide by what the main point of the "Saving Private Ryan" movie tried to get across to everyone who lives secure in this country: "Earn it." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M2w3jFX_lCY
  25. The trifecta should be irresistible to these types of ebay sellers: RARE Pro built screwbottom.
