  1. Took a guess, then checked eBay. Surely it couldn't be that one... It was. And don't call me Shirley.
  2. Just snagged another '62 Newport shell; better than body of the gluebomb builder I picked up recently: At least it has 90% of the windshield frame this time, and no glue or tire marks. Maybe I'll even open the doors and trunk leave well enough alone.
  3. Did so; ended up having to relieve the joints a bit at the bottom so the sides wouldn't pull in too much. Got the interior bucket fitted after that - had to sand the top edge where it meets the firewall flange. Started removing the chrome blobs in the taillight buckets to accept the Acme Resins clear red lenses.
  4. ^^^ Nice going! What brand of resin did you use?
  5. And just to complicate things, Ford changed Silver Mocha mid-year to a much lighter shade, which became the Edsel Charcoal Brown. The original dark Silver Mocha was code K; the lighter version was code D. I found this out because my uncle's Silver Mocha and Doeskin Tan '57 Fairlane 500 was the darker color and I had to find paint for the model. Code K Silver Mocha is also the color the original Revell '57 Country Squire was molded in.
  6. That's the custom version as reissued in the 1970s with skinny vinyl tires. The chopped version had the stock bumper/grille. Redoing it is a crapshoot with the multipiece body; they do show up on eBay unbuilt now and then if you want to give it your own interpretation. Good luck with it!
  7. Or put it in the freezer overnight so the screw shrinks a bit, and you may be able to lift it out with tweezers.
  8. Poured a test shot of the '70 Caprice/Monte Carlo wheelcover in Tom P.'s mold, along with a few more T-bird knockoffs and a pair of '66 Vette open wheel backs. Fingers crossed.
  9. According to Atlantis, "We have the body mold."
  10. How did you get this photo? Is it something Atlantis turned up?
  11. Oh, I can remember some blistering reviews in Car Model over some poorly rendered funny cars and pro stocks back then (although they didn't name the makers, I think the pro stock writeup was about Jo-Han). Paging Chief Joseph - if anyone can do stock '70 dog dish hubcaps, he can. And if anyone wants the color-keyed wheel covers for the '70, I have a mold from Tom P. - one of his last projects; let me see if I can get a good set out of it.
  12. Auction ends in just under two weeks; I'm looking for cars that are potential flippers or keepers (and in one case, yard art!). There's another two that would make good model projects: https://bid.bidfastandlast.com/ui/auctions/49067/3457926 https://bid.bidfastandlast.com/ui/auctions/49067/3443005
  13. Made the chassis and bumpers fit the Skylark, pretty much. Looks like if I glue in the firewall just at the top and let it cure, I can pull in the sides by gluing the ends of the firewall to them.
  14. Rolls Royce Silver Wraith: And "Rolls Royce Silver Wraith" (I swear this is how the junkyard lists it):
  15. So far, it bonds quite well if the surface is roughed up a bit.
  16. Very very good idea - I bet you could do it with Bondic as well.
  17. '70 Bonneville. Better get into your flame retardant underwear before the U.S. Pontiac buffs wake up!
  18. Got the last '63 Rivi wheelcover de-molded, along with some others, including (finally) ONE usable knockoff for the 1/24 T-bird wires . To muddle with something else, I tackled fitting the bumpers and Craftsman chassis to the AAM resin '66 Skylark. Hoo boy. Got some definite warping/spreading issues there. I'll have to dig out my Mod Stocker body to see where to tweak this thing; and Snake, yes, I already fixed the hump in the driver's door. Maybe if I'm lucky this will drive me back to finishing the '65 Nova.
  19. The friend/boss asked me to go through this CA desert auction list to see if there was anything worth bidding on. Looked through dozens and dozens of cars, and spotted this oddball. If you want to do something different with the Trumpeter '64 Ranchero, you could take a whack at it:
  20. Got the NOS '63 Riviera engine yesterday; noticed there was some kind of name on the custom finned valve covers, but when I looked very closely it was just random letters. Odd... maybe they couldn't get permission from the maker in time for production.
