  1. So you can modify it back to a stock '66 Imperial, obviously!
  2. Picked up an engine from the '65 Riviera to fix the '63, plus a set of its wheels and tires (the triple-stripes will go to my '69 Galaxie). Now I just need a set of plain Buick nailhead valve covers and '63 Electra wheelcovers.
  3. Ah. But if you just clap your hands and say "I believe in fai... uh, Firebirds" the photos will magically appear...
  4. Saw him in the mid-70s at the World of Wheels show at McCormick Place. I remember him being kinda short-ish; IMDb says 5' 8". He was talking to a couple other people so my dad and I just gave him a smile and a wave, and he gave us a smile and a wave back.
  5. I'm afraid not; it was the OP John Sharisky's photo - he had trouble posting . But if you swung by my place in that '57 Caddy...
  6. The best resin '60-'61 hubcaps I've seen come with the Jimmy Flintstone Econoline kits - they have the F O R D letters embossed and are shaped more accurately than the ones in the '60 Ranchero. Maybe check with him and see if you can order them separately?
  7. Two more details. Save, reduce and print:
  8. Way back in the early '90s, I worked at a friend's kitchen and bath store where a lot of Corian was used. To join two panels at the ends and hide the seam, there was a special adhesive that my friend said was "liquid Corian" - it had a large tube of the stuff and a very small tube of hardener. Has anyone here worked with it?
  9. Also check the price stickers; some of them say "Your Price" - those aren't eligible for the coupon.
  10. Early this morning I removed the ski rack from the '63 Riviera and sanded the roof smooth, then did the same with almost all the glue splotches on the body (one on the rear has affected the trunk lock and "BUICK" lettering, so I have to be mucho careful on it). Got a close look at the interior's many geegaws and noted the OP had installed the under-dash air conditioner - on the passenger side door panel. Goes nicely with the upside-down fan belt!
  11. You've done pretty well when you outlive the guy who wrote your obituary! I mostly remember him from To Tell the Truth.
  12. As good an excuse as any to bring back the stock Matador; too bad about the Jo-Han Hornet molds.
  13. Very memorable, but very unlikely: I'm surprised this hasn't been done as a 1/64 diecast along with the truck.
  14. Yes, I was thinking the same thing for my resin Skylark; on the Rivi I just want something that will drop in. What I could do is, like my friend's car, add the base model wheelcovers - I'll need to get a set from the '63 Electra 225 and VERY carefully remove the blades.
  15. The '63 Riviera came yesterday; the photos showed the condition well enough. The wheels aren't visibly melted and the roof is good under the warped ski racks. Engine's kind of a mess; is the one in the '65 kit the same?
  16. TCM does a fine little tribute:
  17. It'll need shallower wheels (borrowed from the '60 Ranchero?) and a set of those 3D-printed '63 Galaxie dog dishes to be perfect, but still a good idea.
  18. Hey, I like Chad - just a little ribbing about the use of a certain word. The only change I wish they'd make is a brief still shot of the actual parts in the kit, or at least a still closeup of the box bottom - just long enough to pause on.
  19. I think the designer poked himself in the eye when he saluted!
  20. Looks like we're good - thanks for fixing it!
  21. Only 35 "cools" this time, but it's a short month:
