  1. Same thing at Vernon Hills and Deerfield. To be specific it's diecast car kits they're adding, not just diecast cars. Vernon Hills still has a couple Prowlers in the clearance rack at $7 and change.
  2. Stopped at the Libertyville HL last night, and found an AMT '69 GTX convertible in the clearance rack for six bucks and change - couldn't pass it up despite all the corrections the body needs; at least it would make a good donation to the LMMCC club raffle. Although if I felt really masochistic creative, I could downgrade it to a Satellite and convert it to right-hand drive like the one I saw Marlon Perkins driving in South Africa on an old episode of Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom.
  3. Conquistador Instant Leprosy
  4. Oh, I know; but this is going to be a curbside so I put a unibody '62 Chrysler 300 chassis under it with some dressing-up (opened the rear springs and closed up the rear wheel wells, etc.) and added the engine plug from the '60 chassis. The Plymouth front suspension fits well enough to work without too much trouble (I hope). Got a response from the seller on the '63 Pontiac taillights; they say they'll send out a new set. Asked if I could get two left ones if I returned the two right ones; we'll see.
  5. A lot of small cottage industries have started to take up the slack with a few bits here and a few bits there; also many of us here have started casting rare parts on our own and sharing them with friends. I've done it here.
  6. Got a set of resin '63 Pontiac taillight lenses yesterday - but they're both for the passenger side. Figures, since both my '63s need driver's side lenses . Immediately contacted the seller - will update after I hear their response. Also have coming an NOS front bumper/grille and hood "V" for a Craftsman '66 T-bird (they're different from the regular kit). Also also got the complete chassis from the '58 Plymouth to put a better front suspension with steerable wheels under my '60 Chrysler Windsor custom (if the package ever gets here; per the USPS tracking the folks at the Palatine postal center seem to be playing volleyball with it).
  7. The order arrived today. I had a piece of scrap plastic that had some dried Molotow from starting the pen; a few days ago I brushed some SpazStix Aqua Clear over part of it and today brushed the S-02 on the other part. The S-02 does seem to work a bit better. The store's site lists it as currently sold out.
  8. Really? Hmm. Wonder how much I'd have to stretch that chassis to fit the Open Road motor home onto it?
  9. Now we know what the "CC" in "NCC-1701-C" stands for!
  10. Not really; the '57 was body-on-frame and the '62 was unibody. You could use the centers of the '57 wheelcovers but the outer part is different; you'd need to somehow add the 14 slots around the perimeter that were added for cooling.
  11. And the '70 Ford cop car could be reissued as a vintage Coca-Cola plant security vehicle.
  12. Love it! Really stands out in those close-up shots. Did you replace all the glass with clear sheet?
  13. Plant-fed venison for dinner?
  14. So fine!
  15. Checked out a seller named lionelboys on eBay - his prices have been up there, but now nearly all of his stuff is BIN 70% off. Picked up a bunch of NOS chrome for my '62 Fairlane and a rear bumper for my '63 Tempest promo. He still has a bunch of vintage NOS stuff - check him out if you need anything, particularly early Tempest and Fairlane. There are a lot of custom parts as well.
  16. Man, all this discussion is makin' me thirsty!
