  1. A friend of mine on the Warbird Information Exchange forum owns the remains of a couple HUPs, including these two in the foreground that were salvaged from the Aberdeen Proving Grounds in the late '70s. Note how a large portion of the rear fuselage was fabric-covered:
  2. I'd say what I think of it but I've worn out my thesaurus looking for variations on "superlative"!
  3. At the LMMCC meeting last night, the raffle netted me a Page Resin chopped '69 Nova drag body: Not sure what to do with it yet.
  4. Hi, Tomo - good to see you back and doing well. If you're going to amass a collection, maybe start looking into commercial real estate; find a warehouse property you can put the cars in and rent out the rest of the space to other collectors = win/win. Happy motoring!
  5. Not sure; I found the photo on eBay years ago. I used it to get the size and shape of the license plate opening and the position of the seams:
  6. Good find! That '60 kit has a couple problems from the factory; only the Windsor grille is flush with the surround, and the front bumper is missing the indent for the license plate: The Modelhaus made a corrected New Yorker grille, but good luck finding one now.
  7. Every year of? Henry J, Willys Aero or Nash Metropolitan I guess. Same (with minor trim shuffles) from beginning to end, so if I like one, I like 'em all. Extra points to the Henry J for only having ONE body style.
  8. The soda bottle/heat gun trick worked for me, after I made a resin casting of the back window I needed to replace. It took four tries but I finally got it.
  9. The '60 Vette showed up today - original issue as described with the working suspension; windshield and hardtop rear window have deep tire marks so I'll be looking for replacements.
  10. Interesting that the radiator and firewall aren't clones of the originals.
  11. They're in the Revell 2-in-1 '64 Fairlane, the Trumpeter '65 Ranchero, and in the Moebius '65 Ford F-100 Service Truck.
  12. As for me, I picked up three little long-tail Powerglides from Shapeways: The pans seem a bit deeper than stock (?) but I'm happy with them. Also have another '63 Pontiac rear bumper on the way; now if I could JUST get a couple driver's side taillights (that eBay seller sent me four passenger side units; I returned all four but they never refunded my money).
  13. Deleted - posted on wrong thread
  14. Killer deal, Mike! Worth it just for the tires - plus, put the taillights and hood ornament on eBay and you'll probably get your money back x10.
  15. Weird - I got a 403 error the first time.
  16. Mmmm, nice! The original issue '40 pickup has the '37 DeSoto bumpers for it.
  17. Yep - When Tulio (Lovefordgalaxie) posted the AMT and Revell '40 coupes side by side, there was a definite difference - IIRC the Revell kit looked about 3/16" longer.
  18. I asked Ed Sexton from Revell about putting the old parts back into the '40 Pickup - he said it was a no-go, unfortunately.
  19. Which is a '61 Cadillac wheel cover minus the Caddy crest.
