  1. "But he didn't even hit it!" "You don't have to hit it!"
  2. Joe Wilhelm's "Wild Dream" roadster used a pair of them. (Hot Rod Magazine via kustomrama.com)
  3. A ton of kool kustom komponents in there! I bet the Styline front end at the top would look good on the rear end of a '62 Catalina. What are your plans for the kit?
  4. Nice save! That early Jo-Han plastic is supposed to be pretty resistant to glue; did you find that to be true? Looking forward to more. What are your plans for it?
  5. ^^^ Probably, but since the 4-4-2 is a bird in the hand... Maybe I'll hunt down the dual quad 401/automatic from the '66 Riviera kit too.
  6. OK, one more crossed off the list: All American Models resin; happily I was the only bidder. Really would rather have an original kit, but this was cheaper than the usual gluebombs. Got a Modified Stocker for the engine/underpinnings (and an unwarped hood), but I also have a Lindberg '66 4-4-2 I could borrow from - anyone ever done a chassis upgrade on one of these '66 Skylarks?
  7. Looks like they ruined a bunch of vintage Checkers per the IMCDb page: http://imcdb.org/movie_1302006-The-Irishman.html
  8. And if you prefer the moving image (although poorer quality): Note FoMoCo isn't represented here - wonder how Mercury and Lincoln would have measured up?
  9. It's been a good Thanksgiving today and I hope it's been the same for all of you! (Hope you're felling better and getting some rest, Alan!)
  10. Yes, but they had SS emblems in the centers. (Only you and I'd care, but...)
  11. That sawing sound you hear is from a bunch of original '68 Impala, '67 and '68 Pontiac kit bodies losing their roofs in preparation for conversion...
  12. Didn't the '53 Ford come with a single exhaust in the original issue? Looks like it has the duals from the convertible now. (Now, if they'd only pull a Moebius and give us a '54 Skyliner... )
  13. Thanks everyone! And a shout-out to George Hernandez at GT Kustom Krome. He received the bumpers on October 7th and I got them back November 25th; the new chrome looks terrific. In the future I'll be sending him just a couple items at a time so it won't tie up too many projects at once. Now back to the '65 Nova, I promise...
  14. ...or "Even my slumpbusters have slumps." I picked up this '66 Fairlane back in August 2018: A bit grungy, with worn chrome and an amateur two-tone and stripe job, but savable. I dismantled it and removed the black paint, which was a major struggle - a LOT of rubbing with Testors ELO stripper finally got it all. Fixed the tweaked left taillight and touched them both up with the Molotow pen, replaced the missing gearshift, then stripped the front and rear bumpers to send out to Chrome-Tech USA. Well, we all know what happened then. After CT went paws-up, I shelved the thing until GT Kustom Krome came back on the scene; I sent out the bumpers in early October and got them back this afternoon. So here we are - the stripes aren't perfect but they're original: Thanks for looking!
  15. "Hi there fellows! I just customized my '41 Ford and now it overheats for some reason. Any suggestions?"
  16. So, when you don't count direct TV/movie tie-ins, that leaves the Travolta Fever Firebird, Farrah's Foxy Vette, the Paul Newman 280ZX, the KISS van, and the TV Tommy Ivo dragster. Frankly, the Michael J. Pollard '36 Ford is the most tenuous connection of the bunch - there are no '36 Fords in the B&C movie since they bit the dust in 1934, and I haven't ever seen any evidence of Pollard having owned such a car. Tommy Ivo didn't have that memorable an acting career, but it paid for the cars. Which, I guess, keeps him from being too embarrassed about running around in a loincloth in a studio forest in that Bomba the Jungle Boy movie...
  17. German/Swedish meatball?
  18. It solidifies better if you use a stronger UV light on it; also figure on holding the light over it for a few minutes rather than a few seconds. I use one of these: https://www.amazon.com/HouLight-IP65-Waterproof-85V-265V-Blacklight-Supplies/dp/B01LT53312/
  19. Interesting. I'm guessing it's supposed to be a Buick engine?
