    My case: in the late '70s I bought an unbuilt Revell '62 Imperial Crown and started building it. In late 1981 I moved to southern California and after the car I owned burned up, I spotted this ad in the L.A. Times: Borrowed $500 and brought it home: Next time I went back to IL on vacation, I began working on the kit again to make it look like my car. A subsequent trip later, I had it nearly done, complete with dull white paint and a dent on the passenger door where the PO had scraped against her trailer: It's sort of loosely assembled there - need to do the interior in white with worn leather and put in one raised rear window (Despite a lot of parts scrounging, I could never get more than three to work at once). The real thing got clobbered by a hit-and-run in October 1983 .

    Predecessor to the Frog kits, this English release of the AMT '59 Continental just sold (expensively) on eBay: Playcraft also sold the '59 Buick (convertible?), and this was probably the source of rumors that the molds are in England still.

    The resin '66 Skylark landed here with a hole punched in the side of the carton - Fortunately the inner box with the kit inside was OK. Hood's warped beyond use as I expected, but the rest looks OK. Taillight lenses are molded into the rear bumper (and were too small for the bezels) so I'll work around that with resin or something.

    We'll see what happens - clear resin's a little tricky to work with, especially when it's dyed. Cross your fingers!

    Nope, completely different. The only other one that should be identical would be from the AMT '59 Mercury.

    Got the missing rear bumper and headlights for my '62 Chrysler, three '59 Plymouth wheels, plus the back half of an original '58 Edsel hardtop that can be spliced into a builder I have that has gouged quarters. Also got several '62 Chrysler wheelcovers which I'll cut up, reshape and layer together to make a master with a more correct profile (hey, somebody's got to do it!) . Thanks Leslie P.!

    I was helping Leslie Piagari inventory a bunch of parts and kits today. I found a couple partial chrome trees that I recognized, thanks to this thread, as custom parts from the '63 225 and so reunited them with the rest of it. Thanks for posting the photos! Bob, I have one of those underdash A/C units from this kit - I'll look for it and see if I can cast a copy.

    Full disclosure: I'm proud to say I was a member of the crew that created this: A lot of silicone caulk and 23,000 mirror tiles went into it (I did most of the passenger door).

    A ton of kool kustom komponents in there! I bet the Styline front end at the top would look good on the rear end of a '62 Catalina. What are your plans for the kit?

    Nice save! That early Jo-Han plastic is supposed to be pretty resistant to glue; did you find that to be true? Looking forward to more. What are your plans for it?

    ^^^ Probably, but since the 4-4-2 is a bird in the hand... Maybe I'll hunt down the dual quad 401/automatic from the '66 Riviera kit too.

    OK, one more crossed off the list: All American Models resin; happily I was the only bidder. Really would rather have an original kit, but this was cheaper than the usual gluebombs. Got a Modified Stocker for the engine/underpinnings (and an unwarped hood), but I also have a Lindberg '66 4-4-2 I could borrow from - anyone ever done a chassis upgrade on one of these '66 Skylarks?
