  1. Thanks for posting that, Tom - I have a 2-door conversion started and I grabbed every picture for my research folder. I wonder if we could get those kind of results for Tom P.'s widow - if his builds were promoted right and could get such a following; there won't be any more...
  2. To be honest, most of its "personality" was in the paint job anyway (let's call it folk art ) so you're all set - plus the '63 was reissued much later than the other USA Oldies kits, so it's easier to find. Knock yourself out and let's see a build thread!
  3. Beautiful job, Greg - I'd be scared to put it on a slot car track though!
  4. Sharp little build! What are the wheels/tires from?
  5. Great job, Jean-Philippe! "Standard of the World", indeed! Looking forward to next year's builds.
  6. Cute as a bug's ear - other than the grille, which should have been frenched in a bit, they caught the look of it and your additions make it pop!
  7. Major improvement over that kit top! Are you going to run the drip rail down the C-pillar, or straight back along the roof?
  8. So... Chevy dealer diorama circa October 1965? "The '66s are here - and we still have '65s at deep discounts!"
  9. Merry Christmas to every one of you from every one of me!
  10. And two for us fans of the very old stuff (note the usual price difference between hardtop and convertible):
  11. Just hope he was a very good builder. "Yep - Me and my kid are gonna build it! Now we'll go down to the dime store for some paint and glue!" (seller flatlines)
  12. Maybe - either way, I'd need to fix the hubcaps (way too flat, they look like they're from an '80s S-10) and the grille (needs that horizontal "lip" on the top bar). Not a big fan of The Hunter, seeing one of my favorite actors - as he was dying - in a script that wasn't worth his talents. Good stunts, though.
  13. Another raffle prize at the LMMCC meeting - AMT '51 Chevy convertible. It's from the old Customizing series and molded in very very blue. Maybe I should build it as this one:
  14. Check out the underside photos; if you've sunk a pile of money into got a Jo-Han Maverick or Comet these will help you detail the chassis: https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1974-ford-maverick-3/
  15. Among many other things, you have the body of an ITC '40 Mercury convertible. If you want to build it up, I may have some spare bits, plus I've cast the hubcaps from it.
  16. Can't you let it drop - it's almost Christmas! (Now, which of these two items is more flammable?)
  17. Yep - I got a bunch of 'em displayed with with similar-sized Dinky/Corgi/Motorific etc. vehicles: (Crowded lot there - must be Free French Fries Night at the diner.)
  18. Excellent job, Glen! Your body/chassis combo is a real "why-didn't-I-think-of-that?" idea.
