That was an oddball; body sides and door lines were Bel Air but the trunk and taillight coves were Impala-shaped.

PMC 1959 Ford Country Sedan wagon. Promo has interior and glass, plus "FordAire" emblem on tailgate. They're all warped/shrunk. The toy version is styrene and doesn't warp; no interior/glass/FordAire emblem and one-piece black wheels with hot-stamped whitewalls. Usually molded in red with silver plastic bumpers, although some have chrome bumpers and are molded in coral. Basis for the Jimmy Flintstone resin kit. PMC '60 Impala four-door post sedan. Probably cribbed from the AMT version judging by the grille; the roof is way too flat and looks chopped. Usually sold as a fire chief or police car; toy with no glass/interior.

In some applications I'll use just enough tube cement to hold two parts together, then hit the seam with the liquid to fuse it (currently using Tamiya thin stuff).

Geez, the non-paying bidder issue. I run across this constantly on 1/1 cars on eBay; when my friend is looking a car for sale/auction I go through the old listings for comparison prices. It's not unusual for "sold" cars to be relisted two or three times. I think I've gotten a "second chance" notice on a model only once due to a non-paying top bidder.

The AMT '33 and '41 Willys kits too (unless they're hiding up there behind a cat), plus various Revell drag kits (Anglia/Austin/Henry J).

Its greatest achievement is that it makes the Amphicar look stylish by comparison.

Congrats, Tommy - and you could use that roof/glass on a current '61-'62 Chevy or Pontiac kit to build a 4-door hardtop conversion.

Maybe a '42 4-door sedan that can be built as a police, fire chief, or wartime Army/Navy staff car?

Got this yesterday: Original '58 Edsel rear bumper. I'm building the newer AMT '58 but I'm using the old bumpers because (a) they're more correctly shaped, and (b) they're molded thick enough that I can remove the guards without leaving gaps in the bumper (I'm building it as my old Ranger sedan that didn't have them). Odd thing was this came from a seller who usually has opening bids of about $15 for all his bumpers/grilles; this was listed for $3.99.

Did you get the original '62-issue interior or the USA Oldies ('64 Dodge promo) one?

I've been messing with trim ideas too for my '56: Last one's like '57 Chevy 150 trim swapped side-for-side.

Thanks, Jeff (and Jeff!) Could you please PM me about the bumpers? I could use a steering wheel, too. I've been modifying the curbside chassis to get rid of that cow udder hanging underneath that was left over from the friction motor they used in the promo.

I stopped at the Detroit Resin Automotive Group booth at the recent DuPage show, and a gentleman there had a Hubley Renault Dauphine body and said it was being reproduced. Unfortunately, I didn't take note of which member of D.R.A.G. would be doing this - anyone know? I need a rear bumper for mine and he said they'd be willing to sell parts separately. Thanks!

Simultaneously, at the moment: '58 Ford hardtop '65 Nova hardtop '59 Edsel convertible '60 Renault Dauphine sedan with many others around the periphery, awaiting parts or inspiration or both.

And using a piece of thin stainless steel photoetch fret instead of the blade?
