  1. Kicks just keep getting harder to find.
  2. Canteens were run by the USO in WWII, where soldiers could dance with movie stars.
  3. Love the two-piece head and taillights! I'd probably cast up some clear lenses for those driving lights in the grille. Is there any way the door handles could be made to stand out more, or is that a molding limitation?
  4. The original SMP '61 Impala convertible featured a raised top which should fit the '62; check the parts sellers on eBay. It was also reproduced as a vacuformed aftermarket part but I don't remember who made it.
  5. Chevy Chase is not only a comedian, but also a town in Maryland.
  6. Years are stretched into decades, decades are stretched into centuries, and Centuries are stretched into Roadmasters.
  7. Yep - the Hyper-Pak Valiants pretty much mopped the floor with everyone else. If the series had hung on a couple more years it might have been interesting to see how the V8 Falcons would have fared against the V8 Tempest, F-85 and Special. Back to Falcons - This was one of my eBay finds several years ago; a '61 painted up as Joe Weatherly's ride: I detect a pattern here?
  8. "Time for that jolly juggler, Bullwinkle!"
  9. Parlay voo fronsay is how it sounds when I try to speak French.
  10. Thanks for that GNARLY '80s flashback, duuuuude!
  11. If you want to move to Steely Dan, "it's got a good beat and you can dance to it": (And as my friends know all too well, I spent many years in an Aztec dance troupe...)
  12. Experiencing Yoda's influence, I am.
  13. "Paper Roses" was a rather tear-stained song recorded by Anita Bryant in the sixties and Marie Osmond in the seventies.
  14. Thing about it is, it is what it is, like a rose is a rose, unless it's a chrysanthemum.
  15. Milk delivery used to be at the crack of dawn, with bottles rattling on the front porch.
  16. Glad to hear it! Will they be going to separate wheel covers and wheel backs with wire axles like the '63 Nova, or will we get the promo wheels and tires again? Hopefully this time with whitewalls, unlike the Model King release. Another thought: Might have been a good idea to make grooves to thin down the plastic under the hood opening, to make it that much easier to cut out if you want...
  17. A very neat hoarder, and the stuff within donated to wildfire victims by her heirs. I are confoundeded!
  18. "Number nine, number nine, number nine" went the voice of the Beatles' engineer on a tape loop.
  19. Beastie Boys fought for your right to party; Public Enemy partied for your right to fight.
  20. Them thar hills are alive with the sound o' music.
