  1. Love your steerable axle ! Wish more kits came with them Keep up the pics , your build looks very good so far
  2. Wow , the wheels really protrude from the fenders. Is it possible to use a smaller truck axle under it , something like an Opal or era truck ?
  3. Yeah those orange trucks really stand out !!! Cant wait to see how your builds going Kerry !
  4. Really looking forward to your build, when your used to building under a microscope...your gonna be like holy smokes these parts are enormous !!! Looking at the box art makes me realize how times have changed in this politically correct time now .
  5. Awesome work !!! Those decals might have been a headache , but really set the cab off . This will be another show stopper !!!
  6. Yup that's the email I have too If your on Facebook, Jamie is also on there . He replies to questions promptly
  7. Absolutely love that Maz 537
  8. I had a few hrs to putter today, finished getting the side wing mounted and testing all the parts.Always seems like mockups show things too close and changes are needed . I usually tack everything together so I'm not breaking stuff when problems arise The wing lift had me stumped , theres tons of parts in a small area . The hydraulic cylinder fits tightly against the mounts , and getting the mounts right proved problematic. I tried a few methods then settled on KISS. A few tabs to hold the cylinder along the brackets worked . Heres the lift bracket I really wanted this to have some movement cause I'd been concerned about the wing not resting flat . I made tabs from tube and strip so they could pivot . The effort paid off ...except one rod is slightly short ..easy fix The front post revealed a major issue . I either didnt make the side plates tall enough or attached post too high...either way I ended up adding an extension w I beam to lengthen the post . Before extending the post..whoops After adding the extension. Yeah..its very crooked , just tacked there Pinning the front wing plate will allow it to tilt and slide into the post ...another issue that popped up . I drilled out the wing hole, inserted an appropriate size tube ( bushing) so the pin would fit tightly. hide all this behind a washer and few Meng bolts ..and it's done ! that's it for now !
  9. Thanks ! Glad I could help ya push your skills, it's fun trying different techniques. I appreciate your comments ! Yes having the real truck for photos certainly helps . I've had to swing by numerous times when I noticed photos missing
  10. I started updating the wing supports and mounts . I've been told about several manufacturers of wings , and this was different than my ref. The biggest difference was the mount that secures the lifting mechanism ( rods) to the wing body. I profiled some angle and pinned everything together to keep em even. The horizontal braces were added also . The outside of the wing body had been patched over its lifetime also, so a few scrap bits were glued on. They actually had a 2002 date welded onto the patches ...I may try to replicate that w ctm etch welds thanks for following
  11. Your doing very well ! Also finding out the head scratcher moments building trucks sadly . So many times these issues arise , but they seem to work out . Mocking up the body over frame does help get suspension lined up
  12. Keep up the awesome work ! I'd never realize this was 1/32 looking at the details very impressive

  22. Funny cause my wife was sorting thru boxes and found one I built back in 90s . Its deep forest green, going for British racing green
  23. Umm... Its actually a Kraz 255 truck lol definitely could pass for a retired military truck converted to civilian duty !!! Especially looking at those tires , that beast will go anywhere
  24. I ran into that when building the brockway dump truck , ended up leaving alone ..but it kinda bugs me now . One idea would to add a spacer between front axle and springs to lift the front slightly .
