  1. Wow awesome color combo !
  2. Fantastic work going on ! Are you planning twin booms like the big stick Pete's or more like a holmes ? The color choice will definitely make your build stand out !!
  3. I screwed around with the interior today while we were getting hammered w rain and slush. We've had such a strange winter here in CNY , several feet below average. Digging thru random parts bins turned up a few suitable seats , not exactly like the real one..but the driver / wing man gotta be comfy! Also being an older steel truck, figured they would need something to keep em warm while busting snow.. found this red box inside a dm800 parts truck..hmm..add louvers and pipe it should look okay . The circle in middle was spotted on photos The wing man seat needed hand controls, photos showed bars attached to the dash going down into the floor, w the controls in the middle..first add the bars .. Then patiently drill out a valve to hold the hand controls..I used small diameter tube and brass pins for handles. Later epoxy will make the knobs While I was working on the wing stuff I decided to try recreating the weld date on patch. Using the smaller welds in the ctm set , I shaped the numbers w tweezers and pliers..very impressed how flexible the etch is . Holding them w blade , then slowly touching the edges w super glue capillary action sucked the glue under the welds thanks for following
  4. Very interesting project, will definitely be following! Its certainly eligible for the BRBO....wink wink
  5. Killer paint job !!! Do you rattle can paint or airbrush? Definitely easier making smooth tanks w pvc , these r gonna look awesome
  6. If your on Facebook, check M & R wheels also, they are machined aluminum and very nice..reasonable pricing too
  7. Moving right along ! That basswood will look awesome on your trailer
  8. Awesome job Tom JT has to be going bonkers over all the orange paint jobs going on now lol
  9. Glad to see your back bashing on the Bison !
  10. My parents owned several of these, really brings back fond memories of riding to school every day. Ours definitely didnt look stylish as this Awesome work
  11. Great job on the corrections ! That vent would've been tedious work to make from scratch lol Like the bronze color choice
  12. Thanks ! That's why I enjoy this forum so much, they're so many people willing to offer advice to builders . Those master club patterns look very good w tons of options I didnt realize were available
  13. Hermann- thanks !!! That's certainly a tool I would use constantly. I usually use those random pieces of odd shape scraps for my discs, the hex punches would work perfectly. Thanks again !
  14. Looks like a straight frame !!!! Very challenging w all the ejector pins you had to clean up, well done Looking forward to your updates
  15. These would definitely be another option . Jamie at moluminum uses these . Their resin and come in sizes perfect for our needs. I'm gonna order a few packages for future builds . I really like the stud , making them appear more life like
  16. This is the punch set I purchased years ago while building armor, it's been very handy. https://www.micromark.com/Micro-Punch-Set The meng bolts I use come in small and large size...and different shapes you'd find useful.
  17. Wow !!!! Your build is rolling right along . The shorter trailer will look good behind your truck, and already can see the apocalyptic look coming Tank tracks on fenders !!! Nice I doubt the real tins could support the weight of those without massive supports but it's part of the insane looks of the build well done
  18. Awesome looking Pete Tom ! The rack really looks good on there. Wondering where those furry critters ended up, been pretty quiet lately ?
  19. Thanks! They're excellent for parts like this where ya need details to stand out . I've used common hex rod too when needed Thanks, luckily I took several photos of the gearbox . I really like the meng bolts for details. Hex rod works too, but I'm very inconsistent w thickness when cutting em .
  20. Fun thing about building hookers is the ability to alter where equipment goes ! The operators spec out the trucks for their needs !!
  21. Wknd update ! Small detailed parts ways seem to make a model look real imo..so I spent awhile knocking out the drive motor /gearbox for the conveyor. I'm hoping to use Grante Line chain and sprockets set for the conveyor, this small gearbox should compliment those. I purchased a small punch set years ago, making these small discs easy peasy. Toss on a few meng bolts to wrap it up Next up the chain lift pump !!!
