  1. These would definitely be another option . Jamie at moluminum uses these . Their resin and come in sizes perfect for our needs. I'm gonna order a few packages for future builds . I really like the stud , making them appear more life like
  2. This is the punch set I purchased years ago while building armor, it's been very handy. https://www.micromark.com/Micro-Punch-Set The meng bolts I use come in small and large size...and different shapes you'd find useful.
  3. Wow !!!! Your build is rolling right along . The shorter trailer will look good behind your truck, and already can see the apocalyptic look coming Tank tracks on fenders !!! Nice I doubt the real tins could support the weight of those without massive supports but it's part of the insane looks of the build well done
  4. Awesome looking Pete Tom ! The rack really looks good on there. Wondering where those furry critters ended up, been pretty quiet lately ?
  5. Thanks! They're excellent for parts like this where ya need details to stand out . I've used common hex rod too when needed Thanks, luckily I took several photos of the gearbox . I really like the meng bolts for details. Hex rod works too, but I'm very inconsistent w thickness when cutting em .
  6. Fun thing about building hookers is the ability to alter where equipment goes ! The operators spec out the trucks for their needs !!
  7. Wknd update ! Small detailed parts ways seem to make a model look real imo..so I spent awhile knocking out the drive motor /gearbox for the conveyor. I'm hoping to use Grante Line chain and sprockets set for the conveyor, this small gearbox should compliment those. I purchased a small punch set years ago, making these small discs easy peasy. Toss on a few meng bolts to wrap it up Next up the chain lift pump !!!
  8. That's an awesome cab , screams for giant tires and huge Roo bar
  9. Send Jamie Rahmoeller at moluminum an email or Facebook if your on it. Sure he'd have a visor for your Pete. Ryan M from ebay has a fb store now , he made the stacks , bumpers and visors too. Used to go by rhino 99 ?on evil bay
  10. Love these kind of builds , definitely watching this progress
  11. Fantastic work, you definitely found the right tool for making the links ! My buddy has a cnc plasma cutter for making custom parts , talked about getting a water jet
  12. Try warming up the hood under running hot water around the area you want adjusted . After satisfied quickly stick under cold water and see if that helps. The cold shock should set the adjustment..but its mostly trial. I've done this a few times w mixed results
  13. Awesome work. ! Detailing out the crane will definitely make it pop, and really like the idea of subtle color shifts to create idea the trucks been touched up !!
  14. Thanks Brian ! Working on updating the wing tower behind cab right now . Mine has a pulley inside the tower, where the resin one is on top. Planning to remove the top, cut a space out and stick a pulley more like " fair lead " inside . Thank you !
  15. Very good work ! Your definitely making awesome progress
  16. Thanks ! Mocking up everything frequently really keeps the build exciting for me
  17. Outstanding work, love conversions like these . Really shows what else can be fabricated w our stash of kits ! Definitely see your RR skills building the framework on the RV body Very nice
  18. Yep..didn't matter whether I scrubbed w comet, westleys over night soak, washed w dawn dish soap etc..I sometimes have issues w it . Even spraying mist coats sometimes still had spots that didn't cover . This was their sandable gray primer. I ended up using tamiya fine white for problem areas
  19. Tossed some plastic together to make a fuel tank and its hardware . Chunk of pvc pipe always works good for smooth tanks ! After a few minutes I mocked everything up to check clearance, seemed okay ! The ladder was from the ALF Eagle..worked out perfect for the sander ladder It's really starting to look like the real truck, several small items to chec off the build sheet..then it's off to primer .
