  1. Thats gonna be a stunner when your finished
  2. My fingers are raw and wrinkled up but I've finally finished cutting and sanding all 22 seats for the bus. I didn't want clouds of resin dust from the judicious sanding, so a pool of soapy water was used. I removed a few mm off the backs and sides w a razor saw first, then rounded them off. I was averaging 4 per day before my arms got tired. I made the larger seats 36mm wide, and the jump seat is 24mm. They'll all get a coat of tamiya primer then British racing green. The etch hinges from model car garage arrived today, time to build the entry folding door.
  3. Twin steer trucks rule ! Really looking forward to this Sucks about the grill though
  4. Looking good ! Shop my step dad used to drive for had had an Eagle parked outback for yrs, actually has trees growing thru frame now. Always wanted to replicate the truck in its 3 stripe scheme
  5. @Warren D- yep keeping it as close to specs my FIL drove. They switched to automatics around 1990 i was told, to bring in more drivers
  6. I've been working on details for the drivers area. I used a parts box seat, channel scraps for the base then some rod and punched discs for the adjuster handles. Lastly a spare seat belt buckle w stretched sprue mount. Now the driver had a comfy place to sit while listening to the yelling kids! The dash is going together from spare parts, the transmission shifter is rectangular tube, w rod for a handle. The heater box vents came from the parts bin..their cabin fan screens from a military kit. Once the model car garage etch hinges arrive, I can start the bi folding door. Adding the rubber aisle floor will be last before painting the interior. I'm planning tan walls, w hunter green seats.
  7. Excellent job looks just like the real truck
  8. Ouch those rails skipped final QC Great looking build so far ?
  9. Very interesting! I assumed it was for a crane or similar..guess my conclusion was way off lol Looking forward to your build
  10. Excellent work ! These 4070 kits are really nice and offer tons of options in livery The frame chop and cab work looks fantastic
  11. Lol thanks ..its very humbling. I'm my own worse critic , but have to move forward Thanks ! Its a fun build trying to figure out how everything should fit together
  12. Today I worked on making bows for the roof. Several different shapes were tried until I found a suitable size C channel. I modeled them after the bows found on our military trucks I worked on in motorpool. Bending each w a dowel until they matched the rear then sliding a tab into the groove to lock it against the body. Only 8 more to go lol Thanks for following along!
  13. Plaskit resins in Canada cast the seats. Daniel had a mold available from another project, and offered to make my bus seats.
  14. Thanks I have 22 seats i ordered, those will get cut down and sanded. I need to add legs to window side still.
  15. Nice work, especially the hinged roof to show off your interior work
  16. Looking forward to your build!
  17. Wknd update..pics are gonna look familiar. I found out the cowl was wider than the body. After many long minutes of staring at the parts, I decided to get busy fixing it. I removed the front section, and rebuilt the entire area today. I built the windshield and A pillars stronger this time..allowing me to sand the round corners. The next focus was the seats and aisle walkway. My manual showed a standard aisle was 22 inch, so cut the seats down to 36 inches wide. Thanks for everyone following along !
  18. Paint looks good ! White is soooo challenging to get even coverage, but will be beautiful on your General
