  1. Nice work ? Heard this kit can be a big challenge
  2. Looking good!!! The KW makes a good hauler for the trailer, and their not seen much
  3. Looking forward to your CCKW !
  4. Speaking of that windshield, I built the sign/ light panel to finish off the front. I attached it, then noticed several spots that don't fit tight. Couple thin shims later tightened things up. It was the moment of truth, would it look right with the flat cowl and hood ? Everything needs final blending, but I'm pleased I'm planning to have the entire top removable, showing the interior. Splitting it right behind the front light panel should work. I lucked out that Daniel from plaskit has a mold for bus seats, and is casting a bunch for me, saving a ton of time ! Thanks for looking, and comments or criticism welcome
  5. @TarheelRick- yeah the angled windshield is more common on newer buses. I'm using a 95 bus as my main reference, and the drawing. I wish I'd stuck w flat glass...this has been a challenge!
  6. Slow week at the bench, but finally have a decent windshield frame. I added half round strip to replicate the seals, and curled the edges making a pseudo A pillar. While that dried, I found a suitable screen material for the cowl vent. Its actually plastic screen from tamiya for a 1/35 tank lol. Now to hopefully combine all these pieces making up the front, and start on the large sides Jeff
  7. This brings back memories..she was always hidden in the abandoned mountains, and howled when Stringfellow Hawk accelerated
  8. With your measurements, that's a tool box that could be scratchbuilt from sheet . Plastruct sells beautifully scaled diamond plate sheet.. Just my .02
  9. Fantastic work , truly a showpiece !
  10. Excellent work ! Nice touches w the broom and shovel on the back too..now does it smell like a garbage truck ?
  11. Good to see your Brockway back on the bench ! I've wanted to build another, but since the passing of Dave, unsure what the future holds. Looking forward to the packer install
  12. Gorgeous engine work Our manufacturing technicians use Fusion 360, very good software
  13. Fantastic work! Those little Meng bolt sets make a huge impact, and so easy to use
  14. Progress continues on my bus, yesterday I started working on the flat front cowl. Being a Thomas bus, its well, flat lol. I added a few filler strips across the top, and sides to match the hood profile. I spotted a cool detail from a 95 Thomas bus photo off an auction site. The flat cowl has a step down on the edges right beside the turn signals . I kitbashed a paystar rear wall for the front panel. The curves matched my plans, only requiring a stretch. I chopped it right down center, added the filler piece and reattached. A couple bits of scrap strip was used to reinforce the joint. top view showing the very rough cowl details, those will be blended in this wknd. I also want to add the drivers side air vent fairing. Thanks for following Jeff
  15. Thanks Dan! I didn't realize we had so many bus operators past or present on our forums, it's very helpful! Glad to see you back in the forums too hadn't seen you around hopefully you had a great holiday.
  16. Yeah the squirrels comment is a joke about how easy I get side tracked. They tend to suggest another project while I'm involved in the current
  17. Smallish update I've been plugging away making brackets for the hood hinges to attach to. I stole the concept from the DR kit if it looks familiar! While these cured, I hacked up the resin cab to begin cowling work. The top needs to be a flat panel instead of curved..but the squirrels will eagerly resolve that. Jeff
  18. Great to have ya along ! If ya see me getting side tracked rein me back in lol
  19. @DRIPTROIT 71 Thanks for asking Brian! I'm sure I'll need photos along the way, will send ya a pm I have the V8 from the Louisville hanging around the bench I might try modifying into the 7.3. At least it has the auto transmission I need . I robbed hinges off a long ago built DR, fitting them into the frame rails and hood tonite. The biggest challenge is getting everything lined up now, to avoid a crooked body later. Thanks everyone for suggestions its greatly appreciated
  20. Congratulations to Dutzie on your fantastic build and BRBO 22 award
