  1. okay..twist my arm I'll grab a plate of nachos and follow the build! I'm restricted from popcorn, so nachos fill the gap lol nice work on the gooseneck, and fabbing up the cylinders
  2. Thanks Roger I'll definitely post photos of the mounting parts. Thankfully a model buddy sent photos of the mounts that the caster made for his build. I'll start on that area this wknd hopefully Thanks Gary
  3. It's the only photo I could source of a twin steer Cat in the wild, I'll likely try down sizing the walking beam to smaller spread. Thanks Ace ! Haven't seen ya around the big rig section, glad to have ya following along , and your input along the way
  4. Chris - thanks for the photo of the mixer! I've seen several different layouts of the rear axles , your photo does have a smaller spread Here's the inspiration photo I'm going from NMP
  5. Thanks Brian, something I've wanted to try for awhile now
  6. My next build started off like others browsing the web for inspiration. I stumbled onto a twin steer mixer from Canada, and decided I needed a challenge. Canadian trucks typically have large 72 inch axle spreads , and I just happen to have a rubber block suspension stashed from plaskit. The rest of the build will rely heavily on the aftermarket. I had parts for an mtm mixer Dave Natale had cast yrs ago thats going into service here. Lucky for me theres a cab available from Dave Carey in the form of his " modern construction truck" aka CT660. A quick email later and it arrived . Dave suggested the paystar for a donor chassis, so I phoned in a favor and a shiny new set of frame rails arrived . Not wasting time, I mocked up the parts onto the stock rails....before its future stretch lol. I carefully grafted 2 paystar frames together using the stock springs to achieve my front susp. Building a set of frame rail stands allowed me to mock everything up and admire my work..and realize the marathon ahead lol. Ignore the autocar spoke rear wheels..their temporary. Theres a short extension needed behind the rear pedestal to complete my frame mods. The rubber block works perfectly for this build. Next up frame clean up, and start making mounts for the cab/ hood..hence the marathon. Jeff
  7. Tamiya mica red over silver leaf base ..lousy photos of true color
  8. Real nice lowboy build ! The flip up feet are a cool touch
  9. Don't forget to add a few oil drips on the decking from hauling those D8s around !
  10. Good looking Brockway right there ! Are ya planning to chrome the grill shell or leave it lime green
  11. Great paint work and masking especially over all the cab details
  12. Really nice 4070 build! Your respray looks much better, glad a soak in the Swedish spa took care of the paint issues the frame color goes well too..better than a typical black frame in this case
  13. coming along well ! its gonna look good hooked to your trailer
  14. Excellent build , definitely like the choice of decals ! Cool little details abound from the handcart to check list
  15. I've been pondering purchasing a new Bronco. The major issue keeping me from pulling the trigger is the 10-20k dealer markup over msrp their selling these trucks for. Yeah, they have some teething issues, but Ford has stepped up working with their supplier base to remedy issues. I read they sent workers and engineering into the Webasto plant, the manufacturer of the hard top to help sort out the defects. I can't imagine the stress the folks that reserved a new Bronco, and still haven't taken ownership of their vehicle after 600 days are dealing with. Hopefully some of these supply chain issues work themselves out and they can enjoy their Broncos in short order. Luckily it sounds like the valve issue was a small batch of parts in effected engines, and the failure rates been relatively low.
