  1. When I read about this, I wonder how long before people start digging up all those old slot car books for tips on how to get more power out of their electric dragsters?
  2. From what I understand the Buick, Lanchester and Hispano-Suiza were never released as Pyro kits, just Life-Like.
  3. Did Galaxie do a kit of The Glass Slipper, or am I thinking of something else?
  4. That would be nice, though when it comes to which Alfa would be a good model kit, the answer is pretty much "All of them" A Mangusta or a Monteverdi Hai in styrene? Yes, please!
  5. The Cisitalia and the Talbot-Lago in the back have my interest.
  6. That Abarth would make a pretty sweet model, and they're so tiny, you could do a larger scale version that isn't too unweildy. It would make a nice companion piece to Italeri's 1/12 Fiat 500.
  7. Still good news, considering all the doom and gloom this past summer. As for the Model A's, I guess all we can do is keep reminding them how many people want to throw money at them for one.
  8. If Ebbro ever feels like doing another Citroen, I would be okay with one of these.
  9. Lots of great stuff in Dan's list, and I'd buy most of it. I think a new Type 33 Alfa would be a winner for sure.
  10. A Bentley Continental would be very nice. Like I've said, it never hurts to ask, and we've already seen two subjects coming out this year that conventional wisdom kept saying that nobody wants.
  11. And yet, here you are. I think we're all well aware of the gauntlet that any suggestion has to run. Even if it does catch the attention of the manufacturers, they may decide not enough people want one, licensing fees may be too high, or the person in charge of making the decisions just doesn't like it. This is why I get excited when something actually does make the cut. Getting mad at everyone who doesn't appreciate your genius is a good way to go crazy. Are some of them overly cautious? Possibly, but they do have tighter margins to work with than they used to, and it's easy to talk about taking risks when it's not your money. However, I think it's worth noting that Italeri thinks enough people want to drop three figures on a 1930's racing car to make a new set of moulds worth their while. Sure, there have been a few suggestions where I've thought whoever made them must have been up all night trying to imagine the least interesting car possible, but as you've no doubt noticed, people have different tastes. There have been a few recent releases that have made me go "You're kidding, right?" but presumably the people making the decisions know what they're doing. For better or worse, Round 2's strategy of charging $40+ for kits I had no interest in paying $5 for the first time around seems to be working for them. And if none of this interests you, that's fine too. Nobody is forcing you to read this.
  12. Some modern cars would be good, and the new Alfa Romeo 8c is dead sexy
  13. I will concede the odds are low, but seeing some of the things that have come out recently, I still maintain it's worth letting them know what you want. Worst case scenario, we kill a little time talking about models, which I'm told is the whole point of this forum. Models of the Ghia showcars? Count me in.
  14. Some good picks in that lineup.
  15. Very nice! I'm sorely tempted to seek out some of those Ebbro kits.
  16. Rivieras are nice. I could go for a '71 boattail, and I know I'm not the only one.
  17. If I was at a garage sale, and someone was asking the price of a full sized Chevy van for a model, I'm pretty sure it would come up in conversion later on.
  18. Yeah, don't waste time asking for a '68 Chevelle, they'll never do it. I brought this up elsewhere, but if Italeri ever wants to do another vintage Alfa Romeo, how about this one?
  19. Oh, if they wanted to do a 1/24 version, I would not complain. And if the good folks at Italeri feel the urge to do another vintage Alfa, how about this one?
  20. I'm pretty happy that Italeri has chosen to ignore the "experts" who keep saying nobody wants this stuff, but that modern 8C is certainly one that deserves a kit.
  21. If anything this will make it easier to get something a little different.
  22. From the Jalopy Journal, and take at last year's GNRS. If had had to come with my idea of the ideal early hotrod, it would be pretty close to this.
  23. A technical pen like a Rapidograph or a Steadtler Mars, filled with a decent ink like Higgins Black Magic, is just the thing for adding black to a tight recess.
