  1. Beautiful paint & cool stance.
  2. A classy classic. Well done.
  3. Beautiful Cadillas Al. I guess I missed out on picking up one their Coupe Devilles ?. Maybe one will turn up online sometime. Nice work.
  4. Thanks! Your comments keep me motivated. Added a few more details: Thanks again
  5. Still working on it. Almost done with the interior. The body will be pink and white. The interior will be all white. I was going to do the dash in pink but decided to go with gloss white. I may have to revisit the clock. I used a red sharpie for the hands and covered it with Future which made the red sharpie run. Any suggestions on how do a wash on white seats? Gray maybe? Here's some test fit pictures and thanks for the compliments and interest. Let me know what you think of it so far.
  6. Nicely done. I love the old yachts.
  7. Glad I could help. & believe me, I don't know this stuff off the top of my head. There are a few sites where you can convert 1:1 dimensions to scale. Google is a great invention.
  8. Interesting. Found this on the internets: "characteristic dimensions: outside length: 5674 mm / 223.4 in, wheelbase: 3099 mm / 122 in" 223.4 in works out to 9.31 inches in 1/24 scale and 8.94 inches in 1/25 scale. 122 in would be 5.08 inches 1/24 and 4.88 inches 1/25.
  9. Wow. You picked a pretty challenging kit as your first build. I finished one back in November and as I recall just about every piece had to be sanded to fit right and that includes the window opening, frame and I think I may have even sanded the 'glass' a bit too. My suggestion is to test fit everything before painting and gluing but looks like you've already painted it. Some pictures of the broken axle might be helpful in getting suggestions on how to make repairs. Good luck.
  10. Thanks guys. I used this site for some reference pics when I was building this but it only has 1 shot of the engine. Another site says "Power was provided by a simple but capable 350-cid Chevy V-8 with a Camaro Z-28 hydraulic cam, a polished intake manifold with a single four-barrel carb, and a Turbo 350 transmission." So a search for pics of that engine helped a bit. Here's the completed build. Glad you guys like and thanks for the compliments.
  11. Looking good. Maybe take a little sandpaper to those treads.
  12. The engine is an LS1 from the AMT 2004 Pontiac GTO. 350 horsepower, 5.7 liter V8. I cut off the molded in serpentine belt and replaced it with black electrical tape to correct the routing and try to give it a more realistic look. The air cleaner is from a sprint car and PE scripts from Model Car Garage. I'll most likely use the radiator, with some modifications, and brake cylinder from the same kit. Thanks again for the compliments and thanks for watching.
  13. Thanks! I appreciate that.
  14. Great start for a first timer. Keep it up.
