  1. Wow, can't believe it's been almost a year. This project got pushed aside for other projects and I got hung up on making the side windows. I put some paint on it earlier this week. I have the windows cut just need to figure out how to tint them.
  2. I want to give this a try but have a couple questions. I've read that it's best to add the foil after primer and then paint. Do you sand over the foil after each coat of paint or after the final coat? What about the clear coat? And I've noticed sometimes polishing over foil will create a black residue. How would that effect the paint job? Thanks
  3. Getting closer to completion.
  4. Ha! Just trying to up my game and run with the big boys on this forum. Actually, I normally don't get too "obsessive" with my builds but I'm building the Bel Air for someone's lady friend so I want to get it just right.
  5. Looking really nice so far. I had a similar issue with the 2011 issued Revell/Monogram 55 Bel Air convertible. I removed material from the chassis, firewall, underside of the interior bucket, the tabs behind the package shelf that connect the tub to the trunk area of the body and the tabs on the frame where the body rests and the bumpers connect to. Even with all of that there was still a slight bit of the frame showing below the body but I decided enough was enough and moved on. I certainly feel your pain.
  6. That is a beautiful rx7. Great job.
  7. Nice update to the old torino and the paint job is awesome.
  8. Your daily drive must be a blast. Very cool.
  9. Beautiful. And thanks for showing the build pics.
  10. Looki g good so far. Nice attention to detail.
  11. The valve covers are not stock on my dad's car and it looks the air cleaner is the same in the Cyclone kit. Here's a picture of a picture of his engine.
  12. Nice all the way around.
  13. I see this one is available. It's from the AMT 67 Comet Cyclone & looks pretty detailed. I think I'll go with that. Thanks Brian.
  14. What would be the best kit to source a Ford 390? This will be for a '67 Galaxie converted to an LTD.
  15. Thanks Craig. The search is on. Maybe if I get the correct Fiestas the 49 Ford caps will be available.
  16. Thanks guys. I was able to get them on ebay last night at a reasonable price. Maybe I can find someone to cast them when they arrive or try my hand at resin casting. Would you know if there any Olds Fiesta caps out there?
  17. Can anyone tell me what car these caps are from? I wanted '57 Olds Fiesta caps but can't find any & these seem to be close. Thanks
  18. Thanks for the info and tips. Placed my order with Jeff.
  19. Hand brushed?! What's your technique? Did you sand and polish it, clear coat? How did you get it so smooth?
  20. Does anyone know where I can get a 67 Galaxie or LTD? R&R says theirs are discontinued. I want to replicate my dad's 67 LTD and figure I can convert a Galaxie if I can find one.
  21. Rust-o-leums camouflage comes out pretty flat. You can also try black primer instead of flat black paint.
  22. This is definitely one to follow. Looks like the AMT panels fit perfectly on the MPC body. Any fitment issues? Sometimes there can be a slight difference in scale between different manufacturers.
  23. Fantastic. Your guys did an outstanding job. I'm sure you are extremely proud to own it and rightfully so. One of the benefits of large scale is the amount of detail, the drawback is they up so much shelf space. Again, fantastic!
