progress...... i used Al's idea that he posted on Kevins AMX thread for the emblem on the pillar, and i bmf'd the hood openings, then painted gunmetal in the screen area. not perfect, but ok for me. thanks for looking....
  4. thanks all. Harry, that is a trick of light, it is a reflection of the clearcoat in the sun.
  5. Al, good thought on that, that may be the ticket. Kevin, i had thought of maybe doing the 'inner circle' in white, may try it to see how it looks, if it looks horrible, body color it will be.
  6. man, that looks awesome! i gotta ask though [cause i am not sure how i am going to do it], what are your thoughts on doing the AMX emblem on the 'B' pillar? i don't know if i should try bmf, or try a silver sharpie. what're your thoughts on that? we both need to figure it out soon, lol.
  7. nice build, very nice color as well, well done.
  8. thanks guys
  9. looks great Chuck, although a little 'new' looking compared to the rusty gems you've been building lately.

looks like i may try to bmf each entire 'scoop' and blackwash the 'screen' part of them.
  11. Skip, i had our body shop get some mixed up, and put in a spray can. it's actually PPG paint. upon closer inspection, it looks to NOT be marlboro maroon as it has flake in it and looks more brown-ish. guess i will be stopping at the body shop. looks like this one will stay this color, and i will do another body when i get the correct color.
  12. don't know why the last two pic's don't load.........
  13. i decided to build a replica of my bosses 67 'vette as a gift for his up coming retirement. the car is a 327/4spd in marlboro maroon, with a black and white interior. i plan to rob some bits and parts out of the 57 kit and the foose kit to try to pull this off. it won't be 100% dead on, but if i can get close, i will be pleased. so, here we go, http://i856.photobucket.com/albums/ab121/tbilling1/Mobile%20Uploads/1967%20corvette%20large%20scale/photo_zps0a1d87bc.jpg] so far i am happy with the finish, a little wet sand and polish and it should really shine. stay tuned for updates.......
  14. if that's bad, you got it made! that looks fabulous!

thanks all. Kevin, we will have to do a photo shop of them together when we get them done.
  18. haha.... Terry, you bought all the gravel trailers, so i had to go a different route kit-wise, haha. Clayton, i work what is called 'flat rate' fixing cars, i had a good productive week [got paid for 80 hours in a 46 hour week], so i had some play money Chuck, i am quite sure my UPS guy is not a model builder, as everything always shows up............
  19. thanks so much, i am quite pleased with how it turned out
  20. i like where this is going, can't wait to see it progress. got a hauler in mind to match it??
  21. looking good! i have one going on as well, went with lime ice. i like to hit bodies with about 4 coats clear minimum, then i wet sand with 2k [lightly], then polish with meguires 105 and 205 untill it really shines. looking forward to seeing this come together.
  22. great looking rig Chuck, shorter wheel base really works on that truck.
  23. Chuck, another sweet 'beater', man, you got the weathering/rust down pat! awesome job.
