Not for nothing, but I was under the impression we’d have flying cars by now….. where did that idea go??? Hahahahahahaha…. -

A lot of that is weight distribution, makes for easier battery cell layout, solves a lot of cooling/heating plumbing issues and doesn’t take up trunk/frunk space. -
Haven’t seen anything in the mail yet…..

From what I understand, we have been in talks with Lala land for quite sometime , final details are almost worked out , and soon the flock will be working on the issue……..? -

So, let’s focus on the positives of EV from a gear head point of view . Instant torque, low maintenance, in a pinch , throw an extra battery or two in the trunk….., quite sure eventually we can hot rod these things , instead of cam 2 in the tank, you’ll have a tag along diesel generator to recharge while on the move. Wanna race? Just gimme a minute to unhook my trailer, lol. -
Where did you get yours from? I need one of these like a hole in the head, but I need one of these….lol

BRBO 2022 Pete 378/flatbed
tbill replied to tbill's topic in Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Thanks all, it is a really nice kit. don’t let the multi part cabs scare you, a little tape, and using the floor to ‘square’ stuff up when gluing works wonders. -
PM on the way

Great looking build Jim, well done!

Finished this quite some time ago, but finally took some outside pics. Italeri pete 378 day cab kit, moebius flatbed trailer, GW trucks lift axle, aitm service lines, moebius float steer tires, aftermarket deck plate and mud flaps, scratch built headache rack, and a big thanks to Jim B for the door decals. I was also fortunate enough to win a best pete trophy at a local model show with this build. Hope you like it.

Got an email today from customer support ( week later), and it looks like a replacement hood will be on its way , will update this when it arrives.

Nah, New York is drowning in debt, not water, haha…. -
I emailed them as well, have not had a response , if they don’t have replacement parts available yet, I understand, but at least reply to me about it and possibly offer a time frame for replacement parts, that’s all I ask.

Not for nothing, but some folks gave Bill a rash of junk over alleged ‘conspiracies’, but if you look at the history of US policy and business practices, it comes down to one fundamental issue, money, with money comes power, it is what it is, those with lots of money have lots of power , you’ve never seen big money do the right thing, it’s always about how to make more money. Until we reach a collective consciousness of doing what’s right over what will make us profit, it’ll be the same cycle over and over again with worsening consequences. Just my thoughts , you may or may not agree, and I’m fine with that, just throwing my thoughts out there. -

Well, here is my two pennies, I have a couple hundred hours worth of training for EV platforms, have driven them and work on them. As previously noted, they have a place in the world, are they the perfect solution, no. My concern is the voltage levels involved, and the potential for injury/death to people who will want to poke around under the hood with no idea of what’s what ( hold my beer while I cut this orange cable), not to mention the possibility of all manner of things that can go wrong with a loss of high voltage isolation, yes, there are plenty of systems in place to negate/mitigate these situations, but if you’ve worked on cars for any length of time, you will see things that have happened that are seemingly impossible . -
Fast drying enamel, bit of an oxymoron, no? Lol
-
I pre ordered all four kits back in February, took a bit of waiting for them to show up, lol
