BRBO 2022 Pete 378/flatbed
tbill replied to tbill's topic in Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Thanks all, it is a really nice kit. don’t let the multi part cabs scare you, a little tape, and using the floor to ‘square’ stuff up when gluing works wonders. -
PM on the way

Great looking build Jim, well done!

Finished this quite some time ago, but finally took some outside pics. Italeri pete 378 day cab kit, moebius flatbed trailer, GW trucks lift axle, aitm service lines, moebius float steer tires, aftermarket deck plate and mud flaps, scratch built headache rack, and a big thanks to Jim B for the door decals. I was also fortunate enough to win a best pete trophy at a local model show with this build. Hope you like it.

Nah, New York is drowning in debt, not water, haha…. -
I emailed them as well, have not had a response , if they don’t have replacement parts available yet, I understand, but at least reply to me about it and possibly offer a time frame for replacement parts, that’s all I ask.

Not for nothing, but some folks gave Bill a rash of junk over alleged ‘conspiracies’, but if you look at the history of US policy and business practices, it comes down to one fundamental issue, money, with money comes power, it is what it is, those with lots of money have lots of power , you’ve never seen big money do the right thing, it’s always about how to make more money. Until we reach a collective consciousness of doing what’s right over what will make us profit, it’ll be the same cycle over and over again with worsening consequences. Just my thoughts , you may or may not agree, and I’m fine with that, just throwing my thoughts out there. -

Well, here is my two pennies, I have a couple hundred hours worth of training for EV platforms, have driven them and work on them. As previously noted, they have a place in the world, are they the perfect solution, no. My concern is the voltage levels involved, and the potential for injury/death to people who will want to poke around under the hood with no idea of what’s what ( hold my beer while I cut this orange cable), not to mention the possibility of all manner of things that can go wrong with a loss of high voltage isolation, yes, there are plenty of systems in place to negate/mitigate these situations, but if you’ve worked on cars for any length of time, you will see things that have happened that are seemingly impossible . -
Fast drying enamel, bit of an oxymoron, no? Lol

What pleased me today….., it wasn’t work, that was a freak show, but had golf league tonight, had a great relaxing time. one of the guys we played against collects old golf clubs…., and uses them on occasion, he had a bag full of hickory shaft clubs tonight, I was amazed at how well he got around the course with them. Had a great time out on the links tonight, and shot just a touch over bogie golf, just a very pleasant evening…..

1964 Comet Crash - Opinions?
tbill replied to Sledsel's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I’m quite sure this happened cause the owner wanted his car to have its 15 minutes of fame, and rather than reschedule, and fix it’s obvious issues, he didn’t want to miss his chance to film/show his creation. It’s amazing how much carnage can be created by poor decisions about things that really don’t matter in the long run. I could go on for days about the idiocy of this whole situation, and would love to pepper my diatribe about it with lots of profanity for good measure….., but, we are all on the same wavelength on this, so add your favorite swear words in this reply where you see fit ? -
1964 Comet Crash - Opinions?
tbill replied to Sledsel's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
How does one dump 200k in a car, put it on the road and NOT have full agreed value coverage? Now , you have the car on the road, so, like a normal person, you give it some easy shake down drives, you know, short low speed so you can feel if anything is amiss, so you find out your brakes suck and your throttle sticks, yet you keep driving it that way…….idiot doesn’t begin to describe it…….
