  1. ok, it is officially on the bench now no pic's yet, but I have the frame and partial suspension glued together. I kinda forgot how big a pain it is when the parts are not numbered, lol. I do however have a bit of a dilemma........unsure of what color to paint the frame as the body is light blue, and the hauler will be light blue, I want to stay away from doing the frame light blue [would be too much I think], black seems logical, but for some reason I am leaning towards white...........any thoughts on that possible choice? I also plan on doing a white interior, only due to the fact that this is meant to be a 'white glove' type hauler, and to really get people fired up, the engine will be the same color as all the big blocks in the Camaro's, just as a way to tie the whole project together. so that's where I am at this evening, stay tuned for more of 'phase two'............
  2. that is really going to pop once the bmf is on it, love the color combo, looking great.
  3. those wheels and tires look fantastic!
  4. thanks all i plan to start 'phase two' tonight when i get home from work, going to feel good to work on something other than a camaro............. here is the link to 'phase two' of this project, http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=97349
  5. I must say, I laughed out loud when I saw the progress on this, not at the work mind you, but at the way it looks [ I mean that in a good way], this is sooooo cool! I love the headlight covers! it looks like it's mad.....terrific build!
  6. matching paint scheme on the truck as well would probably look cool.
  7. Dan, my original plan was a hauler full of 66 chevelle cars/wagons/elcamino's, which I have all the kits to do, plus I have two of the revell kits that have truck/trailer/Camaro/firebird combo. we may eventually need a road trip or a good photo editor, lol.
  8. Joe, I hear ya, it's amazing what you can pull off with some focus, time and determination.
  9. wow, lot of cutting there, looks great so far. this is gonna be another out of the park build, keep it going
  10. Mark, I bought an artograph 1530 booth when I got back into building, as I too was wondering how I was going to paint thru the winter. granted, it is a wee bit expensive, but, it is mostly metal, fits rig trailer sides in it, and is triple filtered. I absolutely love it, and would be lost without it. I paint all year 'round indoors, and if you keep the filters clean, it really knocks the smell down, so much so, I don't even vent it outside. again, a bit expensive, but in the long run a great investment in my opinion.
  11. thanks guys. so, Dan, you're in Houston, I am in NY, what do you figure the half way point is? maybe a 12 hour drive by each of us for a photo op? lol. or maybe get someone good at photoshop to park them next to one another when I get mine done that sure would look cool.......
  12. Joe, this thing is amazing, I can almost smell the green tree air freshener in it. I think it's cool that you have built this twice, and so many years apart, just cool stuff man!
  13. nice color! that should really pop with some clear on it. chassis warp, I did a 50 ford pick up and the chassis/fenders were warped pretty bad, I ran it under hot water in my kitchen sink, then 'bent' it past being flat/true, then under the water again, then twist, and repeat. took a bit, but I finally got it 99% straight.
  14. looking good, love the stance, wheels and tires. tuned in for this one.
  15. well guys, the Camaro part of this project is complete [finally], so look for some actual progress on this in the coming weeks the Camaro's awaiting the trailer to arrive, stay tuned......
  16. I like it, love the color combo, this is gonna be a tough looking rig when done.
  17. Ray, looking great man, love that color! I think I may pick this kit up next time I see it, the box art does nothing for me, but seeing your build has talked me into it.
  18. looking good so far! and I can so understand the needing new eyes..........
  19. absolutely stunning! you're almost there Joe! p.s. not trying to be nit-picky, but if you look in the pic of the engine compartment, it looks like the front of the battery needs a touch more paint to cover completely, but then again, it may just be the pic.
  20. the group, in storage waiting for phase two to get done, I want to thanks everyone for the input, comments and support on this adventure, you all really kept me going! it has been 4 months to the day to do this little project. will do an under glass post next weekend, hopefully with some better pic's. thanks again everyone

  22. that'll buff right out........
  23. looking forward to seeing more pic's, before you clear it, try the decals anyway, if you don't like them, you can remove them. might as well give it a shot
