By eyeball, I think I’d take about 1/2 of that sleeper addition height off. Decals look killer. -

man, I am liking that wheel color! Now, slow down, you’re making some of us look bad, haha, keep at it, looking good -
Funny you say that ( our earlier conversation aside), I’m thinking of doing one of the AMT ‘old pro’ nova kits in flat black and putting it on the back of this eventually. Want the whole build to look like a shoe string budget race set up when done.

Great color....check gobs of chrome...check killer interior...check detailed engine...check love it great looking build , that color is fantastic.

You’ve done it again! Those are awesome, what a great idea, and perfectly executed.

So, this has been rattling around for what seems like forever. I built the frame and engine, then built the body, chose a color, and painted the thing. Well, that’s where things went off the rails, haha. The cab and hood came out nice, but the hauler body turned into a train wreck. So, in the pond it went, for about 8 months. Couldn’t get all the primer off of it, and what was left had fish eyes and all sorts of funny looking spots on it. So I let it soak more, and at one point decided to toss the cab and hood in as well. So, not too long ago I decided to pull it out of the pond and asses the situation. Cab and hood were clean, hauler body still a train wreck. What to do I asked myself? After some thought, I figured, let’s try some ‘stuff’ I haven’t tried yet. Broke out the tamiya powders and had at it. So far, I like it, but it’s a work in progress. Still need to dirty up the hood and wheels/tires, but I putter with it in between stuff. Here are some mock up pics of where it’s at ( cab/hood is just tossed on to complete the look as it were)

Thanks all if I ever do another one, I’ll pay more attention to the wheel opening modifications.

......sits at bench building while hoping snow melts/blows enough to keep from having to move it by hand...... this is what goes thru my mind whenever we get any kind of accumulation, lol

That is slick! Nice build -
You want an odd combo of options, I had a 77 olds f-85 ( nova body style), odd fire V6, 3 on the tree, radio delete, car was white with either a black or gold stripe along the bottom, and a black and white bench seat interior with houndstooth insert in the seats. I have yet to see another one like it. Odd car, but ran like a champ, and had the famous dog track to it.

Thanks, I’ll file that in my list of stuff to get and actually try someday lol. Gotta make a hobby lobby run for supplies, I’ll look for them while there. -
I’ve never been a fan of the front end look of these cars, but your build is changing my mind a bit. Outstanding build!

Another box art build, not a bad kit, just wish I had payed more attention to the wheel well/decal arrangement, but like an idiot, I followed the instructions rather than plan ahead, lol. Added a MAD distributor and coil, otherwise, it’s out of the box.

Making good progress on this . A mess is a good thing, means you’re at the bench, and really, that’s all that matters -

Looking good! What do you use for the air line fittings? -
They have good and bad points, the thing that bothers me about them is the people in the aftermarket that may get fried working on them due to ignorance of the safety practices while working on high voltage systems. I’ve had plenty of training from GM, took a ton of it when the Volt first came out, and was still a bit nervous working with/around that kind of voltage. Granted, you can get hurt fooling with fossil fuel vehicles, but your chances of getting cooked from It are a lot less ......

Hey administrators! Can we get a new topic!

Now that you mention it, a paint and bodywork section would be kind of nice.
