  1. 100%, they were all around when I was growing up.
  2. The "blinders" are called smoke deflectors. The purpose was to make the smoke rise instead of covering the engine cab. They were used on American roads as well. Two I can think of off hand were the Union Pacific and the New York Central.
  3. Off topic, but did you know Mount Vernon was named in honor of Admiral Vernon?
  4. There are some magazine covers that stick in your mind. I remember when that issue of Hot Rod came out. I was about 15 at the time.
  5. That's looking good. I really like these old classics.
  6. I love these old classics. I've got a couple un-built I need to start working on.
  7. This is looking really good. I have a soft spot for 67 Chevelles since that was my first new car.
  8. Looks really good. I like the paint color choice.
  9. I just looked at the George Klass Remembers site and it's great. Hundreds of pictures on there and he includes a summary description of the classes. Thanks for mentioning it.
  10. They look very good. But a Ford in a Chevy is a switch.
  11. I used to build 1/72 aircraft a long time ago. Your Zero looks real good. Are the panel lines raised or incised? I don't remember how the Airfix kits came.
  12. My first car was a 1959 Chevy Impala convertible in Cameo Coral (read pink).
  13. Looks really good. I love Autocars
  14. That's a very impressive build. I agree with you about Bandai. I used to build armor and they had some great 1/48 kits.
  15. This looks really good. Is that a brick floor in the sleeper?
  16. I'll go along with the Autocar Dump truck.
  17. The way you blended the two colors really looks good. Did you use an airbrush for that? Don
  18. That cab floor looks excellent, I thought you had replaced the plastic with a piece of wood. Don
  19. I remember seeing the Little Red Wagon at ESTA (Empire State Timing Association) back in the late 60's. That was the local drags trip in Cicero, near Syracuse, NY. Still operating the last I heard. It was amazing at the time. I've still got a Kodak picture of very low quality of it when it made a run there. Those were good times. I guess I'm aging myself a little. The Hemi Under Glass ran there as well along with a lot of the big name AA/F dragsters of the time. Brings back a lot of good memories.
  20. I've been away from any modeling for over 30 years. Welcome back to the hobby. There are a lot of very good modelers of this site so ask questions and enjoy the build. Don
  21. They both look good. I especially like the red and silver combination.
