  1. Just found this and am definitely liking what I'm seeing Dave. That vinyl top looks GREAT man. I hear you on the limitations of the kit in regard to the rear panel but it still is turning out to be a fantastic looking build buddy. Following......
  2. Man that's crazy cool. I've never seen this style of interior before Pat. Will be watching for future updates
  3. I wished I had better news for you on that front Mike. The new Black BMF seems to have the same issue with too low of tack on the adhesive side. The way I look at it is that you have to know what you're getting into when using it but it works out well to the patient builder. Thank you Carl and Curtis for tagging along and for the comments. The next phase of this build will be the installation of the left and right inner fenderwells and detailing them out. I'll be routing engine electrical and headlight vacuum line harnesses on these and then detailing out the engine firewall. These photos came from my good buddy Brent and will come in handy for the details and build up.
  4. Man.....that interior looks impeccable JR!!! Very nicely detailed out.
  5. I've always liked these cars......a LOT. We used to go to my grandparents house quite regularly and I had an uncle that lived the next house over from them. I never had too high of an opinion of him because he always had his priorities mixed up between family and his "toys" but he sure had a good taste in cars. He picked one of these up and it was an all red car. Man that car was beautiful. True to form, he couldn't make the payments and it fell on my mom to return it for him which at the time was cool with me because I was around 16 years old at the time with a drivers license. Just about ANY 16 year old kid would have loved that so I was happy to oblige. Really cool car and I loved every second of driving it even though it was the 305 version. You are to be envied as well. That era of F bodies were some of the best IMO. Even though these kits are older, I'm a bit surprised at the inaccuracies given the large scale of these beautiful cars. There aint no way kit any reputable kit manufacturer could get away with that nowadays. lol
  6. This is coming along well so far. At 1/8 this should be a big beast!!
  7. That's a good lookin' Thunderbolt right there Keith. Are you saying that the kit was a beast to build or that the aircraft itself was a beast? If it was the latter these were indeed a formidable opponent with 8 .50 cal machine guns. Frickin' aircraft shredder.
  8. I may have to pick a couple of sets of those Aoshima American SS wheels up myself. Cool score bud.
  9. Found it!! And thank you Steven!! I knew I should've looked around a little bit more when I asked you for this technique in your Bonny thread. This is awesome!!
  10. I've seen these cars built up into some really good looking builds. Will be watchin' in on this one Pat.
  11. I know right??!! My how our hobby has changed. They catered to us kids way back when......and they're still catering to us kids now. lol Good call on the horn ring as well bud.
  12. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!! Man......that left (OOB) tire looks like a dang front tractor tire!!! Glad you had the ones from the 62 Vette.
  13. Yup....mine too. There aint nuthin worse than getting a build all finished up and seeing a baseball bat with a ball on top for a shifter and a baton for a turn signal lever. Nice thoughts to include them in the kit but hey.......they look like what they look like. Looking forward to more bud.
  14. Thanks Donato. Had some time today to get some major progress done in regard to the chassis. Managed to clean the exhaust pipes up of all mold lines and paint them up. Mufflers were treated to a Matte Aluminum BMFing. I mocked up a spare engine and set it in place with the chassis upside down to give me an idea of where to position the exhaust and once positioned, installed the crossmember and glued everything into place. I also received my Black BMF in the mail yesterday so I was able to put that down over the fuel tank retaining straps. Pretty much finished up here save for the exhaust tips installation which will happen once the body is installed permanently over the chassis/ interior module.
  15. That Joseph Osbourne sure knows how to make a convincing carburetor. Thank God for alternatives to the kit "blobs" for that part of the engine.
  16. Great calls on the seats and again on the shifter. I almost NEVER use an OOB shifter anyway just for the reasons that you have here. Too clunky and oversized. Really shaping up nicely Greg.
  17. The vinyl seat coverings and door trim looks extremely convincing and the details are very eye catching. You're doing some good work in here Gil.
  18. LOL!! I've already seen that.
  19. I built a Corsair for an older friend of mine for Christmas around 8 years ago and I thought the old fella was gonna fall out when I gave it to him. It's a good feeling for sure.
  20. Models as gifts ALWAYS go over well. Especially when they are this well built. Good on you man.
  21. Thanks Jeremy, Little bit by little bit the chassis is getting more complete. About the only things I have left to do now is the exhaust install, apply black BMF over the fuel tank retaining straps and tone down that crossmember to a semi-gloss finish. That'll be easy enough to do as it's just laid in place in the photo below. I will say that getting the exhaust pipe placement may be a little tricky but what I'll do to help that process along is to build another mockup engine from one of the three kits that I have of this car and tack into the chassis so that they'll be in just the right spot. I simply CANNOT believe that this build has taken me this long so far.
  22. Thank you for the good word Mike. We should have a path forward as of today. It's been a looooooooooooong week man.
  23. Now THAT'S how it's done right there Michael. LOTS of detail and exceptional build. Just unbelievable workmanship that went into this build and it all looks very convincing. Sorry for the loss of your two friends bud.
  24. This one came out VERY well Michael. I'll be picking up a set of those seat belts from Futureattraction as those came out exceptionally well. I'll be lookin' in on the completed thread of this one.
  25. That's a lot of detail on that engine Bruce. Coming together well bud.
