  1. The vinyl seat coverings and door trim looks extremely convincing and the details are very eye catching. You're doing some good work in here Gil.
  2. LOL!! I've already seen that.
  3. I built a Corsair for an older friend of mine for Christmas around 8 years ago and I thought the old fella was gonna fall out when I gave it to him. It's a good feeling for sure.
  4. Models as gifts ALWAYS go over well. Especially when they are this well built. Good on you man.
  5. Thanks Jeremy, Little bit by little bit the chassis is getting more complete. About the only things I have left to do now is the exhaust install, apply black BMF over the fuel tank retaining straps and tone down that crossmember to a semi-gloss finish. That'll be easy enough to do as it's just laid in place in the photo below. I will say that getting the exhaust pipe placement may be a little tricky but what I'll do to help that process along is to build another mockup engine from one of the three kits that I have of this car and tack into the chassis so that they'll be in just the right spot. I simply CANNOT believe that this build has taken me this long so far.
  6. Thank you for the good word Mike. We should have a path forward as of today. It's been a looooooooooooong week man.
  7. Now THAT'S how it's done right there Michael. LOTS of detail and exceptional build. Just unbelievable workmanship that went into this build and it all looks very convincing. Sorry for the loss of your two friends bud.
  8. This one came out VERY well Michael. I'll be picking up a set of those seat belts from Futureattraction as those came out exceptionally well. I'll be lookin' in on the completed thread of this one.
  9. That's a lot of detail on that engine Bruce. Coming together well bud.
  10. This'll be another good one to watch.
  11. You could always re-do the foil work if you choose. Especially for as much work as you're putting into this build. Looking good buddy.
  12. Heya Steve, If you don't mind, can you explain these processes that you use to weather the firewalls and engines? I'd love to know how you do this.
  13. Great work on getting rid of the bulletbroof window paneling. That clear sheet fits in there like it was made for it.
  14. As with all of your work in the past and now this........you seem to set the bar higher each and every time you build something Steven. For a while I got stuck in kind of an assembly line approach where I just did everything the same but you've inspired me to expand my skillset with each and every new build. I truly admire you as a modeler and thank you for going the extra mile to explain your processes.
  15. Looking forward to seeing what you'll be doing with this one Barry. I had a 306 in my Fox Body Mustang. Fun times........
  16. Dude that engine looks crazy good. Nice n' weathered up a bit and I absolutely love that carburetor. Is that a Fireball Holley?
  17. Looking forward to it bud. Try not to put undo pressure on yourself for the show. Just focus on getting it done no matter if you miss the deadline. I crammed one year and missed stuff that I normally would've caught.
  18. Very cleanly built Eric. These are some very well detailed kits right out of the box and I'm glad that Revell decided to re-visit this car and come up with some new molds for it.
  19. A little progress while I'm commenting here and there. This is around two weeks work and believe me.....what you're seeing here is anything but a boring black suspension. There are 3 different shades of black along with some other similar but slightly different colors splashed here and there. Still gotta put the brakes and wheel backs on, install the crossmember and exhaust system and apply black BMF to the fuel tank retaining straps.
  20. Looks great so far. I'm looking forward to seeing how that panel liner is going to do it's magic later on.
  21. Making good progress on this one Kevin. Good to see you pick it back up again brother.
  22. This build looks like fun Dave. Great detailing so far.
  23. Some good work already going on with a tough kit. Looking forward to what's next Greg.
  24. Totally missed this one bud. Amazing color and fantastic looking car. As usual, your photography is amazing in itself as it really brings out the very best in your already good builds.
  25. Thanks Mike. Been out of the loop for the last week or so. My wife has had a kidney stone that she cannot pass so we're waiting on an appointment now to get it removed after all the Xrays and urology appointments. I worked on the suspension yesterday and today and sanded all of the molded in wiring off of the inner fender liners/ engine sidewalls. I'll be going back with actual wire harnesses from scratch on this one. I had the front suspension all painted up and ready for the application of tonal variations between parts when I noticed something off. One thing I learned at the Nats was not to "let certain things go" and I almost did it here. See the mold lines going chordwise on the leading edges of the control arms? I sanded them off and re-applied the paint. There.....much better!
