  1. That stance coupled with the wheel/ tire combo is looking great bud. I don't blame you for not touching the paint job till later on either. It'd be a shame to get fingerprints in that paint work at this point in the build.
  2. Bring it. I'll be watchin' this.
  3. I like all the details that you're putting into this build. The wheel/ tire combo aren't necessarily my cup of tea but hey....the build's not done yet and I'll be looking forward to seeing how they "click" with this car as the build goes on. Looking forward to more.
  4. I've seen this one elsewhere but didn't see it here until now. I'll be watching this one Marcos!!
  5. I managed to get the radio/ CD player (anybody remember those?) installed and put a CD left ready to fully insert into the player in there as well. I didn't like the usage of a 2D decal for an OEM radio so I went with a PE offering from my PE stash.
  6. Thanks for the encouraging comments fellas. Gil: I'm going to be using that on this build here and hopefully that'll take care of the spider webbing effect I've been getting while using this paint. Alright guys, Got the dash primed and then shot with a coat of semi gloss black. After that I painted, detailed and installed the CORVETTE emblem in the middle of the dash. Then I went to work on cutting the decals from the sheet and put those on some black Evergreen stock I cut out. The speedometer is installed and I've got the backing for the tachometer in the foreground. Frickin' "macro" mode makes the center gauge pack look like a hack job but it's not like this when looking at it in person. Here's the results of cutting each gauge out and adhering it to the backing. The backing was then adhered to the backside of the dash. Completed gauges.....now installed.
  7. Man this is just some INSANE work going on with this car Jim. Un.....frickin' .....believable!!
  8. Any more on this one Kit?
  9. That's a good take on the tail lights Atin. I've used BMF Chrome for tail lights in the past with some Clear Red over that and it seemed to work out pretty well. Looking forward to seeing the details on that dash. One thing that I do on gauges is to drill the gauges out and put the decals onto a placard from the rear of the IP. Here's my 1970 Camaro dash to illustrate my point. It adds just that layer of added depth to the panel.
  10. For most of us I'd say that a small amount of "trash" floating in the air is normal. If you're like me, you've got an average to slightly less than ideal/ perfect painting environment. I'll usually get that one "floater" that winds up in my paint work. In that case, wet sanding and polishing are my best friends. This is looking great so far Bob.
  11. I'll be using this technique with my hose clamps from here on out. Thanks for that tip Steve.
  12. You could practice on another car body in the stash to perfect your method so you don't get frustrated if it doesn't turn out like you want on your project here Stan. Looking forward to more and the wheel/ tires assemblies look great!!
  13. Now that's more like it. Looking forward to more bud.
  14. Just found this and don't know why I didn't see it earlier. I'm with JR on giving it another try to get all the paint off.....it's worth at least a shot Bob. Will be following this now that I've found it in hopes that you'll press on .
  15. Thanks Jeremy, I've been on this one pretty much every day trying to get things right on it. Thanks goes out to a good friend of mine named Brent for supplying me with some interior shots of his car which reminded me that the seats are NOT all semi gloss/ leather. The comfort weave pattern in the center of the seats is actually matte in appearance so I masked off and replicated the look. I also cut the drivers seat in half and put it back together like it is now to display it folded forward as to give a better view to the battery box behind the seat. OOB shifter is now installed after reworking and trimming it up to keep it from looking like a blob sticking out of the console and making it a bit more defined. Additionally, I'll be making the battery compartment door hinged and displayed open. I also installed the PE door handles and picked out the details on the center console around the shifter as well. Battery is all painted up and detailed and this mock up shows what I've been building towards for the past few weeks. I may go back and paint the interior of the battery box area semi gloss black to add contrast between the interior and the compartment for added interest. With the molded in park brake handle removed I'll be working on that area next.
  16. Excellent fit of the body over the engine and speaking of engines...that powertrain looks just great in that chassis Dennis. You're really putting alot into this build and it shows.
  17. Engine work is lookin' good. Love the PE hose clamps.... Frickin' CHOICE!!
  18. I doubt many onlookers would notice anything about the seat cover decals JR. Your interiors always look good and this one is following that same standard. The paint / masking work you've done on the body is also "all that". Looking good ol' buddy.
  19. Doesn't look like you'll have much of a problem with that seeing how well the color coat laid down for you Jeremy.
  20. Some very clean and tidy work on those window sills. Nicely done.
  21. All these open doors and trunk lid are looking great and I'm learning. Where do you get the square tub from?
  22. Got anything on this one Atin?
  23. How bout black? Anything looks good in that color and if it's done right it'll look as smooth as a mirror.
  24. Thanks for taggin' along Carl and again for the comments buddy.
