  1. Man there are some awesome builds in here that didn't place that I think should have. While I don't have a car model that didn't place, I certainly have an aircraft build that didn't. Not that I think I'm all that and a bag of party mix, but I was surprised. I would show it here but this is after all , an auto model forum.
  2. Nice lookin' Mustang there Ray!
  3. Sweet build Dan!! Say...........wasn't this one on the 9 car hauler at the show?
  4. Thanks Kevin! It did do that. It was hard stopping at just repairing the broken stuff and not going for broke to redo the whole thing but I have other projects right now and after a lot of contemplation .....I decided to leave this one be. Maybe I'll build another Camaro on down the line.
  5. I like that engine!!! Nice work!
  6. That's right. I thought I saw a mock up somewhere on that.
  7. That's a lot of fun just looking at this!! Neat build and you pulled it off nicely Pat!!
  8. Lookin' at it now..... Thanks Harry.
  9. This thing is beautiful Steven!
  10. In reading back to the original post I probably woulda caught that if I would have read "The body from the cowl back is completely scratchbuilt of basswood and birch veneer." Yeah....that part. LOL. Awesome job Harry! Awesome!
  11. This is wicked!!! "Wow" is all I gotta say!
  12. This looks one the money Harry! How in the world do you guys pull off this wood grain technique?
  13. You're doing a great job Sonny! Hang in there and take your time. I echo what Steven said, it's great to see a younger builder among the crowd.
  14. First off , I'm a BIG Fw190 fan!!!!! Secondly this, is way cool!!! I definitely dig that BMW James! P.S. C'mon......you know you wanna post a pic of that 190 too......
  15. Looks like you've got everything lining up there Dan! What's the plans for the exhaust system?
  16. Thanks fellas!!! Been out for a couple of days camping and haven't been able to respond. I had planned on doing white stripes down the top of the hood, roof line and decklid back then but had too many other builds to get to. You know how it is as a kid. Attention span of a knat!! lol Ray that's a beautiful Chevelle!! I had several others but they all got destroyed in moves along the way. I've got a couple of other builds but this is the best of the three. The other two, a 66 Dodge Charger and a 74 Cuda from MPC are marginal builds at best.
  17. Thanks Dan. I just keep my head down and keep plugging away at it. You gonna make the show in August? I'm gonna try like hell to make it. I dunno if I'll have this done by then though.
  18. Great color and paint finish Jim! That car looks great!!
  19. Woooooow!!! Holy !!!! That sir, is a work of art Pat!!! Beautiful re- build!!
  20. Thanks Tom. This thing is giving me hell the whole way but we're gettin' there.
  21. I built this kit when I was a youngster (about 14 or so) right around the 1983 time frame. It was my first car model I do remember that. Despite being a beginners build and a rough one at that, it has survived 31 years and is in my display case almost as it was when I built it. The engine is long gone and the passenger seat in the interior is loose but other than that it's all there. A couple of years after I built it I robbed a set of wheels from a "Street Demons" 41 Willys kit that I had just because I couldn't stand the rear wheels that came on it originally. Over the course of the last two days I took a break from my 56 Ford F-100 build(just needed a break!) and took this one out of the case and repaired the suspension so that the body doesn't rest on top of the rear tires any longer, re-adhered the rear bumper and "dolled her up" a little bit for some decent photo shots. Here's the one that started it all for automotive modeling for me:
  22. Man that's just a beautiful build there Dominik. I really like the color as well. Nice work buddy!
  23. Glad to see you got back into it Mike!!!
