  1. Thank you Jim and Brodie! I feel like that all the frikkin' time Jim! I'm loving this build the whole way but I'm ready for it to be done already! lol . I'm not gonna short cut it or give in but that feeling is there all the time about the getting done. What's really funny about it is that this was initially going to be a job where I pulled it down from the shelf, painted a replacement hood and rear spoiler up, install the two pieces and put it back up on the shelf so I could move on to my Bf109 build that's still in the box next to the bench. I had no idea what I was in for.
  2. Hahahahaha!!! Woooo hooooo! Let there be a gong strike for that!!!! I would definitely get a heck of a lot more out of it I know that. BTW it's funny that should come up about the TV. I bought a mini DVD player a few weeks back to take on trips for our son. Well it doubles for entertainment in the form of modeling how-to videos (weathering, painting and the like) while everybody else in the house is watching the "tsunami of window lickers"on TV. Great progress on that motor Jim!
  3. I don't think I've ever heard that term before!! LOL Looks to be a great project!!
  4. It's always a good thing when a good modeling friend that you meet on the forum sends you something in the mail unexpectedly. For those of you who know I built a Revell 1/48 Corsair just before Christmas as a gift to a close friend of mine here in Corpus and that thing fought me from the time I opened the box until I finished the last detail. The recipient of the build was highly grateful and all the work was worth it. My fellow modeler buddy sent me this after watching all of the hell I went though on that Revell build............
  5. I've seen it before but could watch this a thousand times!!! Totally bad A!
  6. ..............and he splashes the scene with a Hemi Roadrunner!. Gotta let tha big dog eat! Welcome back to modeling world Ernie!!
  7. You know, when I came to this site I just wanted to know about how to get a glossier shine on my gloss coats. I had no earthly idea of all the stuff that I would not only be seeing while during my journey here but all of the things I would be picking up and learning along the way. It's guys like you and several others that have given the automotive model building experience as well as model building in general a whole new meaning to me. This sir JC, is some good stuff.
  8. That's pretty much the same questions I had buzzing through my head on my Challenger build Pat. I need help with that too!
  9. Thanks Dave! Hopefully it goes into the body in the next two weeks!
  10. A husband /wife project. This is awesome! The build is great as well but the whole concept of the duo build with the wife is great!
  11. Lookin' good bro!! The BMF looks good.
  12. Man those G-2's do look Bad A!! There's just something about a couple of Flak cannons on those that gives 'em that true sinister look!!
  13. Scratch 'at on the delivery of the BMF on Friday. It's gonna be here today!!! Looks like I'll be able to finish that exhaust up by tomorrow morning! Thanks for the vote of confidence Brayden! After watching some of the builds in here I feel I have a ways to go..............but I'm learnin'!
  14. This is a cool kit too! Dang dude what's your stash look like? lol
  15. I like the old Taurus SHO a lot and have never seen this kit. Looks like I may be hitting ebay up! What you're doing with this is awesome!!!
  16. Well I spent most of the morning(appr 40 minutes) masking off and painting the exhaust. I'll be waiting on the paint to dry and then apply matte aluminum BMF to the hanger strap on each muffler. After that we're waiting on the chrome BMF to complete the exhaust tips that is now scheduled to be here on Friday instead of today. Well that blew all hopes of having the exhaust done by Friday morning! Oh well...........it is what it is. The exhaust as of now: and an updated shot of the interior with the dash in place and the shifter handle corrected:(I guess I deleted the pic with the handle visible! ). Will take one tonight as I'm out of time this morning. Gotta go to work you know.
  17. From every angle I can see from here it looks like you've got yourself a winning paint job there. I seem to always have to take the extra time on the lighting and camera settings as well . Lookin good so far Pat!
  18. Man Tom! That blue sure has a purdy shine to it!!!
  19. Man John you are leading the way in modeling way beyond the sprues brutha!
  20. I like watching builds like this take form. Folks can learn all day long off this stuff and never have to ask a single question! Great work Jim!
  21. I did manage to get the shifter handle color corrected. I ended up just replacing the lever and painting. As for pics of the exhaust I did come up with a couple:
