Sounds like a handful of a kit! I wonder what they were thinking when they updated the fuselage and not the wings???????? If I were in the market for a 1:32 D-9 I'd probably go with that new Hasegawa offering. Since I build 1:48, Eduard has 'em all smoked in the way of detail OOB / bang for the buck areas. True they are a little tricky to build at first but once you've built a couple and watch others build theirs (by way of watching folks in a Group Build) you get the hang of all the barriers and hurdles and overcome those fairly quickly.

Man that is an impressive job under the hood of that thing! Looks good Albert!! While not much in the overall progress of this build, I did manage to start painting the suspension and differential today. Still gotta bring out the detail for the rear springs, paint some of the front suspension areas and paint the driveshaft but we're getting closer all the time.............. -

Lookin' good on that motor! It'll look even better with the color corrections! -
I've seen some good builds come out of Revells Ju-88. Man those guys are really getting their act together with all this new tool stuff as of late. I don't, however , remember hearing anything good about the accuracy of the Ju-87 G-2. I have a G-2 but its the old Monogram kit, nuff said about that. lol

Aww man Pat!!! I feel for ya on that airbrush!! Glad you had the success on the Transam though!! I would assume that the letters have to come off of the hood before using the PE ones. I dunno....I think I'd leave the molded one's alone and paint those but that's me. I'd be real leery of the PE letters. Just my

Dan: I thought it was cool too but 1400 bucks??? That's a lot of friggin' money!! Ok it's update time. I spent alot time this morning on the chassis detailing and painting the brake and fuel lines, removing all the seam lines and flash from the differential and the front suspension (this was enough to drive a sane man crazy) and test fitting all the parts. I also broke out my spare kit that's molded in white and the spare tire set that I have for my 66 Mustang and put every thing together in a mock up to see if I could get the stance and the tire / fenderwell clearances I needed....particularly at the rear of the car. I had to mess with the spacing of the wheel backing a little but I got everything together and the mock up/ test fit yielded promising results. Here's how the stance will look: -

Thanks Dan and Randy! You know I was toolin' around on my email and got an advertisement for a 1:8 scale Lamborghini Countach LP 500. This isn't related to my build but I just had to comment on this. There aint no way I've got this kind of money laying around!!!! Check it out. -

Dan:It ended up sticking so I'll be using that idea after all. I'll have to do the wraps on a piece of wire that's not twisted though. After sitting back and looking at it a bit , it looks like wrapped twisted wire. As far as today's updates go , I ended up installing a hose for the windshield washer reservoir and I've been working on the chassis a little bit. I ended up just starting over because I'm going to have to change up the ride height a little bit to get the wheel/ tire combo that I have to work. So with that.................. Here we go.......... -

I'm sorry for this Jim................Which one of those is the real life photo?????????? BTW, thanks for the tip on the Tamiya primer over teflon tape. I used the Tamiya Gray primer in the bottle and it does stick. Looks like we're on our way to replicating mummified electrical harnesses with teflon tape after all. -

Hey there Kevin. I found out some information regarding chassis. Initially I had painted my chassis black but later found out that it was mostly body color. Here's a photo from one of my reference photos that I acquired through here: Not nit picking as you are off to a good start but just giving some info to you. -

I do appreciate the input you guys give and it's all good stuff so thanks Bill and Fred for taking the time to contribute all the information you do to my build. I run into these issues all the time with the RLM colors when building Luftwaffe subjects(the only thing is that muscle car information is a lot more recent and available! lol). Thank you both for all you contribute in here. Jim: Thank you for that information because I had decided to scrap the initial idea and was working on something to take it's place. I do have a bottle of Tamiya liquid primer in gray. I may give it a shot with this stuff and see what kind of result I get. If it doesn't work I'll find a bottle of the Ultra Fine White Primer you speak of. Thanks buddy! -

Tom:Thanks for the good word man and I don't blame you on the not doing wire harnesses for 6 builds. That would drive me crazy too. (Hell this one here is almost doing that!) Tim:No operational horn yet! lol . Hopefully I can start making some real progress on this thing. I've still got a little ways to go here in the engine compartment and then hopefully I'll be able to get underway. Ken:Thanks for the link dude! I'll be using that for sure in future builds. Mike:Thanks for the encouragement! Believe me when I say I get a lot more from you all than I bring to the table. I just started in automotive builds for all practical purposes (since around the 1st week of November) and am still in my infancy skill wise here. I do appreciate what you said though. Tommy:No thanks! There's gotta be an end to this all somewhere. I think this build is running itself at times! lol -
Ahh....an exercise in patience! lol . It frustrating to have to wait at times but it's a necessary evil.
-
All this fabrication is great Mike and I'm really looking forward to more progress!

Interior is lookin' sharp Rich. Looks like you've put a lot of time into it.

Those seats alone are da bomb and that's not to mention the rest of the build!! Kenneth!! Good looking build so far!

No real benchtime this morning. It was mostly research as to how I can pull the harness replication off. I may move on to other things right now with this build but rest assured, I will be re-visiting and re-vamping this idea. -

That spare tire looks good in there Dan! I can't imagine having a flat with a full load of cars on there. Must have been hell on a person to get to that spare at that point , let alone get it out of there! lol
