  1. Just outstanding!!!! Great work John!
  2. There's the # 3 admission to age.
  3. Ok.….we're really dating ourselves here but I'm going to say it......I REMEMBER that one too!!!
  4. Do I ever hear you on that count. I built the Revell Street Demon themed '54 Chevy Panel Wagon from the early 80's and did I find out just how true that statement of yours really is. Really tough to build and pull off with any kind of decent outcome.
  5. Thanks Francis! Great to have you tagging along bud. Thanks Rich! I got the decals that I have from Ebay. Dude you're right about the Maverick prices. Just crazy!!! I would love for somebody to start manufacturing Maverick kits again. There were a few from different manufacturers for a while a loooooong time ago. There are resin copies of this kit on ebay for around $40. Ol' JC (afx) brought up the fact that the Revell Thunderbolt chassis will work with a little tweaking earlier in this thread. Too late for me though …...I've already went with the Mustang chassis which also fits very well with this car after shortening a tad. If I didn't have so much work tied up in modding the Stang chassis I would've went for it. This is that Tamiya Pure Red that I was talking to you about over on the other Johan Maverick thread.
  6. Thanks Carl. I think once I get the decals on they'll settle this red down a bit.
  7. Thanks Kevin. Yeah, the decal sheet has the contrasting orange color on them.
  8. For a while I was building older models myself.....what am I talking about....I still am!! In any case I'm wondering if we like punishing ourselves or if we are truly in it to challenge ourselves as modelers. If we can build this kind of stuff and pull it off then these newer models should be a cinch!!!
  9. Thanks Carl! Well gang....progress FINALLY. I've been hard at work on this bad boy and have not posted anything due to trying to hit the bench a little harder. Here she is in the primer stage: and after I let that all dry out I hit it with color (Tamiya Pure Red dispensed from the can and shot through the AB) the next day. Didn't have to do ANY sanding to the primer coat. A couple of mock ups once the color coat had dried....couldn't help myself but to do this but have to admit that Mavericks look a little out of the ordinary in red: Was able to tuck the rear tires a little further inward as well. Still gotta raise the front of the car a smidgen and bring those front tires outward a little. I'll get there......
  10. Nicely painted and decaled as well as very well detailed.
  11. Can't go wrong with an A990 equipped car. These Darts used to be among my favorites right along next the A990 Barracuda's of the same year. Another great looking car.
  12. I do that a lot as well and then it's usually the dang model dictating to me how to build it. lolol. Great color and shine on this one. I do love me some Willys cars.
  13. Nice n' wild color/ decal combo on this one. The half down drivers window is a nice touch too.
  14. Yeah.....you're going to have to post some more pictures of this one than just that. Man this is too much. Can't get enough of these good builds that you're throwin' out there. Friggin' total eye candy.
  15. You seem to be a very busy man in the modeling world Dave. You really know how to turn out a good lookin' car model...that's for dang sure!!

  19. Very Impressive!!
  20. I can feel your pain Kevin. Hang in there with it bro. It aint about the mistakes......it's all about the recoveries!!
  21. Keep 'er comin' Francis. This is gonna be one real head turner when it's all said and done!!
  22. I've given thought to building this car several times. When I was a kid the Saints version of this car had just come out. Looks like I may have to pull the trigger after seeing this fine build posted. Great work here Dave.
