  1. Good lookin' Willys Mike! That turned out really good dude.
  2. Lookin' good so far Wayne. I'll be watchin' for updates on this one.
  3. Thanks for the comments you guys. Misting the white was key. The roof was harder than the hood really because I used white enamel on the roof and had to do one helluva lot of sanding and all to get it smooth. Once that was done the decaling and gloss coats went well. The hood....I used Tamiya White primer over and got by with that because the red is a Tamiya paint. Again misting was key. I didn't have to smooth anything out on the hood as the primer laid down as smooth as silk. Just decaled it and glossed it and it was done. After a weekend I've made some more progress on this bad boy. After robbing the foot pedal assemblies from the AMT Mustang kit I cut the grossly over scale swing levers from the back of each pedal Then I formed up the levers and made some mounts on the back side of the dash in which to "swing" the pedals with... I finished this part up this morning by painting the swing levers and pedals. I also darkened the steering wheel wood just a tad...
  4. This is just too much! All these models being built with more metal are just sensational and this one here is no exception to my opinion of it. Very good work on this Mike!
  5. I'm definitely impressed. Man that looks good!!!
  6. Ya know....I'd seen this project under way and meant to stop in and comment at numerous points of this build and then I'd get tied up with something in the real world and would have to close the window. BUT.....I'm here now and would like to tell you what a great job that you've done on this build throughout the various stages of it. She turned out to be a very fine completion Ray. Awesome work buddy.
  7. Lotsa nice details on this one. I do think it's cool that you have one of the original slicks to this car from waaay back. Nice touch......and I couldn't tell which slick was the older one.
  8. Can't help BUT to drop in. This is some of the best auto modeling I've seen yet.
  9. Thanks Mike! I'm getting pretty close to being done with the dash. I took a couple of liberties with it just to have at least a little fun. I still have the foot pedals to construct and put under it and to install a tachometer on the dash but it's pretty much where I want it. I took Macro shots against my better judgement. With that being said, the blems that show up in this pic won't be seen by the naked eye.
  10. That turned out pretty dang good Roger! Wow!!!
  11. Thanks Scott! 'Preciate you dropping in Francis. I'm just trying to keep givin' 'er the ol' "one-two".
  12. Thanks Mike! Finished up the hood this morning. This whole applying white over red is NOT an easy thing to do. Fought color bleed through all the way. BUT....I got it.
  13. VERY nicely done Pete!
  14. I've really been on the fence about getting one of these and this one built up so nicely that I'm really giving it a lot more thought than I did. PM sent.....
  15. Crazy Crazy Crazy cool. I've never seen this one but I really like the way you built this one up.
  16. Thanks Bruce. Post those pics up if you find 'em. Thanks Roger! 'Preciate that Rick. Don't have a lathe yet so I can't manufacture parts like some of these guys can so I'll make the best out it that I can with plastic, PE and resin. Tim I appreciate your comments as well. Your Mav is looking suuweeeeeeet!! Francis, I appreciate your encouraging words and for your help on this build. You da man. Thanks for dropping in and for the comments Scott.
  17. Then those are the wheels that came out of that boxing?
  18. Keep 'er comin Tim. Blowin' minds all the way.....
  19. That's a good lookin' Willys Tony. Those Fenton wheels look great on that car.
  20. Those must've been some great times watching all those guys alright. Got any pics Bruce? Thanks Larry!! This build has been going a lot slower than a lot of my other ones just because of parts....and the money to get them. Used to I would buy everything I needed BEFORE a build. Now I'm having to spread everything out as I can afford it. Things are slowly coming together now. Sometimes it's a "one step forward and two steps backwards" gig. Like today for instance, I saw that one of the rear wheels that I shot with Molotow has cracking in the chrome finish. Dunno what happened there as the other rear wheel is ok. Guess it's a bath in oven cleaner and a re-shoot for that one though. The other thing that I've noticed was the rear bumper. There are two HUGE sink marks on the outside of the bumper where the two mounting tabs are located on the inside of the bumper. Looks like that's gonna get stripped and some body work is coming down the pike. One thing after another with this kit...………...BUT......that's modeling. The other thing that has been hampering me is myself. Like....forgetting to paint the roof white for instance. And just yesterday I saw where I forgot to paint the tail light panel black. No biggie....just masked off and shot it semi gloss black this morning and it turned out ok. Updated Mock up shots:
  21. Thanks for poppin' in Bruce. Wish I could've seen it first hand like you. That would've been awesome!
